Cycle carriers
Hi all,
Have just bought a D4 and would like to get some kit. Interested to know of recommendations towards Cycle Carriers with the ability to carry x4 bikes. Tow ball mounted seems sensible over roof rails due to height, so long as it tilts to allow access to boot!
This will mean getting a tow bar and would also like a decent quality boot liner. Beyond ebay; any pointers towards where to access second hand or well-priced accessories will be much appreciated please.
thanks

I have a pendle which fits onto a fixed towbar, it has a bracket you fit between the ball and towbar frame, and supports the wheels and takes 4 bikes, works very well.
If you don't mind a bit of surface rust, (it could easily be painted with hammerite) you could take mine if we could agree a sensible price, as I don't use it any more.Joined the BMWX5 45e group

I bought this combination off Blue Meanie and - so far - seems an excellent combination:
I can put my kayaks on the roof and bike on the back!

+1 for the Atera Strada - really great piece of kit. The slide away is awesome (to borrow my kids vernacular )
I have 4 on the Atera and one bike on the roof - the one on the roofs a bit of a pain so invested in a foldable step which works fine..Also Gone : MY14 D4 SDV6 HSE : Barolo Black + Almond

I use the Maxxracks and Atera Starda. Both are brilliant, however, the Maxxrack is faster to set up and breaks down to store really easily. If its just me and my wife going out for a ride I'll use the Maxxrack, if we're going on holiday or as a family I'll use the Atera.New Defender L663 110 SE (known as Noddy!)

Boot liners.
I had the land rover rubber mat and the Hatchbag which works really well, we put a full size dog cage on it and it make no marks on the underlying carpet. I also found a rubber matt on ebay for the rear door so that when the dogs jump up they don't ruin the carpet - just cant remember what it was called and where I got it.
The hatchbag is really good tho and I think we get a discount but not sureD4 HSE - Aintree Green

thanks again for your help everybody - much appreciated - some good insights and ideas - bootliners included - I hadn't planned on the greyhound - but I'll add one of those to the list too!
Anybody know a good one-stop shop (apart from ebay or amazon unless they are online shops within these umbrellas) where I may be able to buy compatible kit under one roof and therefore achieve a deal? (I'll exclude the greyhound for the sake of this thread)!
