Torque Wrench Calibration - Halfords / Norbar

I know how to calibrate the micrometer style at the top of the pic but I have no idea how you adjust the Halfords / Norbar type below:

Anybody done this or know how to?

Hi,
It depends whether you mean set the tool to use it, calibrate it to check the accuracy, or adjust the factory settings to change the performance of the tool.

To set the tool you unlock the handle by rotating the the end knob. There is an arrow on the Orange end cap to show the locking direction. Then simply rotate the handle until you reach the desired Torque in the scale window. Always approach a torque setting from a lower value. Relock the end knob and you are ready to use it. After use set the tool to the lowest marked torque value. Never unwind a torque wrench to 'zero'.
Both calibration and adjustment require a measurement device. Adjustment also requires some special tooling. Hopefully that helps. If not let me know.
Thanks
Neill B

Welcome to the forum!

Yep, looking for the physical 'factory' procedure to fine-tune the calibration so what-you-set-is-what-you-get as one of mine has drifted.

I have an electronic reference and I know how to strip and cal the micrometer style, just not the Norbar style.

Correct. While I could go through the process by phone, if you need the special adjustment tool it will cost more than a new torque wrench.
Happy to help even though I only have a Series 3. Smile
Send it to Norbar clearly marked for the attention of Neill Brodey.

Cheers
Neill

Neill I am very grateful indeed. Bow down

How did you come across my post - are you contemplating a D3/D4 to keep the Series company?
