this year...we will go by ferry from Barcelona to Civitavecchia (near to Rome) following the region of Marche, to pass through San Marino, Bologna, Parma, Monza-Milan (Expo), to France via Montblanc, crossing France and stopping at Vichy and Bordeaux and return to Spain by San Sebastian and Bilbao to our home in Gijon Asturias ...after 15 days
... we love our holidays always traveling through Europe with our dear D3.... are already doing nine years, more than 50,000 kilometers in total, and we have in our collection F, NL, B, L, D, CH,A , CZ, P, I ....and the wonderful GB of course ( on 2 times, the first 20 years ago and two years ago the last... I love it) ...
...I wish a good summer for all lost in translation!

If you are heading to the Vendee via the Portsmouth - Caen crossing, its toll free almost all the way, only the very last bit of motorway is toll, and this is about 3 quid.

We went to the Ardeche last year, it was very nice and stayed at a camp site by a river, L'Ardechiose. Lovely town next to it called Vallon with a nice restaurant called Le Chelsea.
This year I am going down to watch 1 week of the Tour de france in the Alps (wild camping in the caravan), then meeting up with the rest of the family for Dijon, then Nice, then Narbonne, then Biarritz and back on the ferry. Loads easier driving in France than the UK.Also a member of avforums.com

I'm taking the tintent clockwise around France for August and a dip into Spain, plus a long weekend in Rome with my middle daughter prior, a week in Banbury with the dog in the middle. Seven weeks in total. Love it.
