Great feedback
On the d3, there is an emergency release which enables you to put it in neutral without putting the key in. I'll include that in there as well. Bodsys Brake Bible

This also caught me out! It might not have been in the Brake Bible but in Disco Mikey's thread where it said to leave the vehicle in park, I was scratching my head for a little while why I couldn't line the holes up!!

If both wheels are off the ground at the same time, then it doesn't matter if it's in Park or Neutral, but the wheels should be chocked to stop the car rolling away. My D3 Build Thread

I had a very full day yesterday at full disc/pad/shoe replacement. I used Borg and Beck kits from Steve at Advanced Factors, very good price with everything you need.
Fronts were easy, same as a D3 but look slightly different. My pads were absolutely jammed solid in the runners, not seen any like that before. What I did find though was even a slight amount of rust/corrosion behind the spring clips made them very stiff, so I trial fitted with the carrier in my hand to make sure they were nice and smooth running. This was a lot easier than trying to do it with the carrier fitted.
The rears were a real pain, turned out my shoes were totally worn, so trying to source a new pair was interesting. How do Land Rover think they are worth £72 plus VAT per side?????????? Steve has them at £54 for the pair, so I had a target and did find some locally that were that price, Ferrodo, so not a totally useless make.
I also found it easiest to put the whole back end up in the air, getting around the Park issue with the knob, thanks Mikey.
Bodsy, you will find a pm with a link to photos for the front, they are just bigger and look slightly different, feel free to use/ignore as you wish. The rears seem pretty much identical to the D3Joined the BMWX5 45e group

I am so relieved it's not just mine! Look at the uneven wear on the photo below. Both front wheels were the same and the top lug on the inside pad was most jammed on both sides. Not only had that pad worn down quicker, but the lip on the inside of the disc extended in a wedge-shaped profile about 20mm in from the edge. The discs were only 30% worn, so I had them skimmed to remove the lip before replacing the pads. I scraped and filed the rust off the recess in the carrier where the shims sit, but still the pads were held too firmly. So I filed a bit off the pad lugs, too, until they were an relaxed fit in the shims. Then I dipped the lugs in copper grease before refitting. Front brakes are now working brilliantly and I'm keeping an eye on the disc profile. Next time I take the carriers off I'm going to Dremel them so that, hopefully, I can avoid modifying the new pads.
Went for a job as a human cannonball. Not the right calibre.

A question for Bodsy.
Following your fantastic instructions for rears - EPB adjustment. Using B&B kit from Advanced Factors - new shoes, discs and pads. After the 8 click adjustment, the shoes are still binding slightly - is this OK, or should the adjustment be increased a bit? Haven't put the pads back on yet,
Thanks

So, what os a definitive answer , from your experience , before taking the rear rotors off ?
I heard things unclear , over the years, should I just pull fuses for EPB and that would be sufficient , use MSV2 or there is some kind a" putting EPB to sleep mode ".?
Always been buzzed about 8 clicks adjustment and I don't remember him using allen key hole for a additional correction .Thoughts ?

before taking the rotors off, you need to fully wind back, remove the fuse etc as per the instructions.
the 8 click bit is for the final adjustment afterwardsb as is the allen key 1/4 turn. Bodsys Brake Bible

Don't use copperslip on the calliper pins. Silicon grease usually. Not seen red rubber grease before so I do not know what it's like.Bodsys Brake Bible
