Apparently I have used an offensive word in my comment - surely not 4x4!

"Isn't it funny how us 4 x 4/SUV drivers are suddenly very popular in adverse weather conditions?"

Not really. A 4x4 can only drive in water as deep as its exhaust pipe and most 4x4's lack the snorkel that takes the exhaust out of the roof. Equally most 4X4's use as much electronics as a regular car and short out in rain just as easily. Unless you have a PROPER 4x4 like a landrover defender or Toyota landcruiser (and know how to drive it) or even better a WW2 era Willis jeep, then you're just an even heavier lump of metal to be dragged out of the flood by the AA.

I see so all those 4x4 drivers only bought there gass guzzling monster child killers so they can drive about in floods. Fine Park it in the driveway when the roads aren't flooded then.

Or buy a boat!
