Transmission noise plus static electric shock on exit?

My 2005 HSE drives fine but with the window down, sunny days, noticed that the auto transmission seems to make a slipping sound like clutch slipping but clearly I have no clutch plus on exiting the vehicle after even short drive it give a nasty shock if I touch the door. Any ideas?

Do not know about the transmission but try grounding yourself before touching anything metal. Thumbs Up

It's probably actually you giving the poor D3 a nasty shock! Maybe you should change your choice of clothes, as certain combinations of clothes can rub together producing a static charge, which is discharged when you touch something metal - i.e. the D3.

Despite the shocking replies to my original message I would just like to let them know that the noise was apparantly caused be a faulty fuel filter which was partially blocking fuel flow leading to the strange noise apparantly a RRS was also making the same noise but after replacement of its Turbo the problem was identified by a land rover technician Smile . Garage have today replaced the filter under warranty and all appears well. Smile
