D3 rear storage
So took a small break from the overland trailer today (some bits were in the paint area drying) and started to construct a rear draw for the D3. I have a permenant divider in so the dog can have the drivers side of the boot and that leaves the passenger for everything else
I have been trying to get a solution for all the stropes, ratchet straps, shovel etc etc that we all carry scattered around the car. I know this has been covered a lot before and I have tried bags and under the thirt row of seat but nothing really worked for me. I use ratchet straps a lot so always need them handy and not under stuff!
So I had some Plywood left over from the sabkey and decided to set about making a purpose made draw to fit on the passenger half of the boot. Here it is so far:
Tomorrow I will sand it all down and give the outside a coat of Primer. I will be fitting one of the left over paddle latched I fid not use on the trailer and will cover it in carpet so it looks original. I also have four lashing eyes to mount on the top for strapping down the fridge when it is not in the Sankey 07 Java Black TD V6 D3, EGRs Blanked, Tow bar, Full dog guard & divider, LED Spots , DRLs, GG ATs, RLD Sump guard, RLD Spare Wheel Protector, D4 LED Rear Lights, Limo tints on boot and Midnight tint on rear windows, Kenwood screen with Garmin nav, Rear cameras, D4 Steering wheel with flappy paddles, T-max split charge system, Tree sliders, Prospeed roof rack & Ladder, Alisport fast road inter cooler,

A bit more waiting for the next coat to dry today:
Put the latch on then coated it in some acoustic carpet to make it look OEM. I just sprayed some carpet glue down and then laid it on carfully pulling it tight as I went.
Also cut some holes for some spare lashing eyes I had. Incase I need to strap anything down (fridge).
Went round with the staple gun afterwards to just hold the edges and corners. I will be fitting it later today so will get some pics then.
But here it is in the back seats finished:
O just need to grease up the wooden slides has anyone got any suggestions?07 Java Black TD V6 D3, EGRs Blanked, Tow bar, Full dog guard & divider, LED Spots , DRLs, GG ATs, RLD Sump guard, RLD Spare Wheel Protector, D4 LED Rear Lights, Limo tints on boot and Midnight tint on rear windows, Kenwood screen with Garmin nav, Rear cameras, D4 Steering wheel with flappy paddles, T-max split charge system, Tree sliders, Prospeed roof rack & Ladder, Alisport fast road inter cooler,

Nice job
If you find the carpet starts to catch or wear thin on the edges/corners, this stuff and some of these things are really handy, I used it on mine. Just tacks onto the edges with little black tacks.
