O just need to grease up the wooden slides has anyone got any suggestions?

Why not shave a couple of MM off the the bottom of the runner on the drawer then mount some bearings sitting pround by the same amount in 3-4 places. You would need to cut a segment out of the runner to fit the bearing in, could do it with a Forstner bit or router. The drawer would then run on the bearings and be super smooth.

Just happen to have a leftover soft-close draw kit from my last kitchen build somewhere in the garage Whistle

That would be nice Smile

I was going to use sliders like I have on the trailer but wanted to keep it simple and it can always be upgraded Thumbs Up

Forget the rollers, timber on timber Ok. Candle wax is the go not silicon spray for longevity.
Alternatively use laminate on both surfaces.

Last night I put some of the stuff from lake land on (link earlier in the thread) and let it dry then put the draw back in and OMG what a difference! That stuff is amazing!

The draw now basically falls out of the boot once you release the latch and it slides effortlessly. Is now all finished and perfect Thumbs Up loaded up with tow stropes, rather straps, halfords tool kit, shovel, wheel brace & of course the D3 Haynes manual (hopefully won't need that!)

Thumbs Up

I'm glad the Lakeland Free-n-Easy worked well. Thumbs Up

I find that when it's used on wood, it needs to be re-applied several times until a layer builds up. Then it will only need a new application every year or so depending on use.

v nice.

re kitchen draw slides, I'd be wary as they are typically rated to about 25-35kg, which is rarely enough for the kit we tend to fill drawers with - so they'll fail quite quickly.
