Suspension Problem
When I park the Disco up & lock the doors the vehicle makes a couple of hissing sounds from the rear is this normal?
Also the wife said the Amber suspension light came on when she rode over a speed bump and said suspension fault.
Now it's gone out and not yet reappeared?
The car ends up flat down after 2-3 days of being stood on level ground.
Any ideas?

car will self level when parked, hence the hissing sound. If the suspension is dropping then there is probably a leak somewhere? From what I have gleaned on the forum, start by getting a spray bottle with water/detergent mix and spray the air lines and compressor to check for leaks. If a warning triangle has come up then you should get any fault codes read as this may help pinpoint the issue.
There's plenty of reading to be had if you do a search. good luck

Cheers for the link guys really informative, the light came back on today so she said when I got home & took it for a spin it stayed off!
I need to get the codes read Will has offered but I'm wondering if there is anyone a little closer as I work 7 days at the min & I could only get a short time off to have the codes read.
Anyone a bit closer to Hartlepool that can help cheers

Car starts fine operates the suspension up & down no problem. Though after 15-20 minutes driving the warning light comes on? & stays on until I turn the ignition off.
The same happens on each journey still haven't had the codes read yet

Well it's been back a 2nd time & height sensor & a new compressor fitted.
I Cannot believe the difference in ride height it's straightend a slight off centre steering wheel and the harshness of the ride has gone it must of been well on its way out.
Very very happy

My D3 used to hiss as it self levelled, however i didn't believe it should.
I did a check of the air lines and found a hole where the pipe rubbed on a brake cable. I repaired the hole and the self level hiss stopped. The car still self levels, just silently. The nearside EPB cable caused the hole in my pipe

Sorry to Hi-Jack, but thought it best as there's so many threads on this!
Dad's drove our LR3 this morning ('09 plate) and has said there's a Suspension Fault on the dash; so I've just been out in it, and sure enough, info and light on the Dash - BUT, the car goes up, goes down, sit's level and is "normal" to drive. not bouncy as described elsewhere.
We've only had the Disco a few weeks & have not got a code-reader : anyone around Sunderland area that could read it for me please?
Not sure where to go on this one!Just got me a D3 Manual; I'm new to this Discovery Stuff!
