I was not considering a change - very happy with what has been in incredibly reliable, comfortable and practical vehicle. I bought it with about 1k miles on the clock and have done the other 157k myself. I used it for a 160 mile/day commute for a while (hence the miles) spending 3 to 4 hours a day in it - I have never felt more relaxed than after getting out of my Disco after listening to podcasts for 2 hours..... but I am preaching to the converted here!
However, the fact is that I do need to get mobile again very soon. I am decided, I may sell it "as is" and put the money towards a replacement, but I have just PM'd Geoff (thanks for the suggestion) to see what he thinks. From the helpful info above, re-engineing would be a "no brainier" if I had the time / capability to do it myself, but that is not the case so I will see what Geoff thinks.... (57) 2008 HSE
