United Kingdom 2009 Discovery 3 TDV6 Commercial XS Auto Stornoway GreyDiscovery 3

Ok so I see this being a great mod, did it a while ago as I have the acm fitted in mine! Bought a cheap one and it broke. By chance I tried the old iPhone to lighting adaptor. Plugged it in the cradle and now it works perfect, phone fits on top and doesn't move. Maybe a little off topic but why bt audio when you have the acm? I get good quality music, it charges and the bt works for the phone calls! I also get to skip tracks. Now obviously this won't work if you plugged into the aux port but again why would use the aux if you have acm!
Anyhow just saying! I do agree the bt audio is a good idea for no cables 👍👍👍

I had no problems with the ACM . in fact I was really happy with it and the iPod is still in my glove box when I fancy a change, but, with the BT I can stream all my iTunes collection from my android phone through google play music, I can switch to tunein radio to listen to absolute 80,s. And with an 'OK google' it will play any track or artist without me having to faff around on the buttons.
I have nearly 15000 tracks on my iPod classic and the steering wheel buttons would take me an age to find a track, especially as the radio doesn't display anything other than aux and the iPod is in the glovebox.
It also allows anyone else in the car to stream there music or movies, if kids are watching iPad they can plug headphones into the door controls and listen to the movie and I can listen to the CD .
Don't get me wrong the iPod through the ACM was great .. Just the Bluetooth works better for us.. And its quickly reversible back to the iPod Thumbs Up

Unfortunately won't be til the new year as the two cars are 560 miles apart and not planning to get together until then. Whistle

Old thread revival, sorry.
I've just bought a D4, and am keen to get Bluetooth streaming working as I spend a lot of time in the car.
I've always used the tune2air adapters in the past, they work great with BMW iDrive, and, whilst I have never had iPhone display on the screen, I have track control from the steering wheel etc. The BMW variant connects by USB and 3.5mm jack.
I've just tried it in the D4, although the aux socket location is just asking for trouble.
The sound quality isn't great either, and the volume is modulating so that's not going to work.
I've read lots about the layen unit, and seems good value for money, but as it doesn't appear to be capable of track control I'm going to try one of the other tune2air units and plug it straight in to the iPod point. Hopefully this will give track control.
I'll let you know how I get on!

Cheers
Simon
