New key cut now electronics require programming. Help |
|
I have sourced a replacement key blade cut to the same profile and a new 'unregistered' electronics internals from another source. Would like to know if anyone can recommend someone to programme it. I am based in northwest England

I would be very interested to know if this "unregistered" key (presumably not from a LR dealer) can be made to work with your D3. I don't want to rain on your parade but I suspect not - I tried and failed with a Faultmate MSV (and my dealer had similar luck with his SDD kit) ; only when I got the kosher key from UK LR was I able to pair it to my D3/LR3.
Just saying...

There's programming and pairing...AFAIK, only LR HQ can program the key so it can be paired. All key orders here in the US go back to the UK and take 7-14 days to fulfill. So if it's possible to avoid that expense and delay, I'm all ears but I fear a not so happy ending....
The D4/LR4 being keyless may have different wrinkles...I was talking from my LR3/D3 experiments...
Of course Pat, if you're watching and the IID tool has some super secret sauce let me know; I assumed it too does the pairing option that dealer SDD tool does...where you have to be sure to have all existing keys available during programming/pairing otherwise they will get orphaned and no longer work...
