FBH....again!

Is there anyway to manually start the FBH? Not from a remote or anything sexy, just to start it to see if it is actually working ???

Yes - but not for zero cost. See www.disco3.co.uk/fbh for loads of info

Either an oval timer, third-party module or the ThermoTest software and an OBD adapter and a little wiring.

Take the temperature sensor out from behind the front bumper, place in the freezer for twenty minutes, refit and provided it reads below 5degs and the climate control is on auto, off it goes Thumbs Up

Or spray it (the sensor) over with some "freeze spray".

Or an upside-down tin of contact cleaner / air duster / cleaning fluid etc!

Come on, we have all improvised and the sensor does not care.

Does climate control need to be on auto always for it to work in normal circumstances?

Are you saying that if the sensor is tricked and key turned to 2 with auto climate on it would star without starting engine? Or did you mean start engine and put cc on auto?
blessed are the losers ,for they determine the winners

The car will only ever run it with the engine started.

The requirement for the climate control on "Auto" is disputed, some say yes and some no - not sure why it came about, it's not documented that Auto is required for FBH operation.
