Is diner normally this late
Actually, we've got family by marriage (if that make any sense) who are Norwegians, but they live in the Highlands, and they eat dinner every day at 4pm - can you believe that
Kids eat around 6.30 and grown ups around 8pm here, earlier if we are all in together, which us rare but nice
In between X factor and red wine, I'm cooking up slowly some mince etc to make a big family Lasagne for tomorrow's tea, the boys are of walking on Cannock Chase at 10am with Cubs/ scouts etc, itheyll be home around 4pm so an early tea as a family

allan_T, do you drive through Brackmills/Wootton in the mornings just before 9am ?
Yes, my normal route is Gowerton Rd then cut through Wootton, saves being stuck on the A45 at that time of the morning.GAP IID Pro Multi Vehicle Defender L316 2007-2015 - Discovery 3 - Discovery 4 - Discovery Sport L550 - Freelander 2 - Range Rover Evoque L538 - Range Rover L322 - Range Rover L405 - Range Rover Sport L320 - Range Rover Sport L494 Electrical Fault Diagnostics

Purely decoration Greg....it's an antique......but a friend just got this done, and I feel I owe a neglected bit of heritage an attempt at refurbishment....

Euan as much as I like the patina and "worked" look, that is no substitute for being able to see the workmanship that went into it once clean, the polished finish highlights the swirls and machining that went into it, well worth the effort I think Altox GSM FBH controller thread

It is a thing of beauty 8)
That was done by a professional....in the first picture, there are numerous hairline cracks that are pretty much invisible, and the blades are out of alignment, for a hard-worked prop, that can lead to all sorts of vibrations leading to damage further up the line......not any more though.....
GLYNNE,Tomato Ketchup is cheaper than Brasso, and just as effective.......
The patina actually protects the metal, but is much less efficient than a polished blade .......
I'll post pics of my amateurish attempts to refurb the one in my garden "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt" ?.....what rubbish...
