I want large as I do camping and also skiing but I've measured these out and they just seem so big?
Does anybody have any advice or even some photos of their roof box on their car if they have one of the above?

No photos of my old Thule but after an accident with a low hanging car park entrance I switched to the halfords ones which when on sale are peanuts by comparison and after 2 years virtually permenant use great quality for the money. Mine has the rapid fit clamps takes <5mins to fit once you have the knack.

+1 for Halfords own brand in their Sale. Had mine for 8 or 9 years now, does the job perfectly well, also has the quick release U clamps. 2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

It fits the car really well, the only issue is storage! With the Thule one compared to the Halfords ones, is that The Thule opens both sides, you really do need that to get to stuff in it unless you have inspector gadget arms!

I have a rope & pulley system by Thule that allows you to hang the box from the garage roof when not in use. It is actually designed so that you drive car into garage lift box off the leave until next time, but with a Discovery can`t do that as vehicle is too tall.

roofbox.co.uk for good prices and advice (I have no affiliation)
We have a KAMEI Delphin 470 - excellent. Thule are good, though I think the premium for the name is now not worth it. Some of the Halfords boxes used to be made by Thule for much less.
Gratuitous shot of it in use. Fits the D4 well, and can get bike racks next to it too.

Another for roofbox.co.uk
I bought a box from them for my previous car (Evoque - so no point posting a pic)- some good advice and I couldn't find it cheaper elsewhere. Just consider the weight limits on the roof bars - need to pack the box with the lighter stuff. That said, it was a stretch to get up to the box on the Evoque and I'm over 6ft, so when I get around to fitting it onto the D4, could be interesting packing it. Heard of some people who get one of those small fold up step ladder (2 or 3 step) - not sure if my side steps on my car will be enough.MY2012 D4 HSE Nara Bronze with some extra stuff

I have the Thule Motion 600
which is about the biggest box that takes only half of the roof's width.
In the box I put bags with normal luggage.
On the second half of the roof's width I carry skies or a kayak.
This won't work with the original LR roofbars, you will need wider ones like these ones:
Thule AeroBar 862 + Thule Kit 3027 Fixpoint XT + Thule Rapid Fixpoint XT 753Some people get by
With a little understanding
Some people get by
With a whole lot more
I dont know
Why you gotta be so undemanding

Really, will the clamps on the Thule roof box not go around the original Land Rover roof bars?
