Anyone recommend a headrest Ipad holder for D4?

Looks like our portable DVD players are shot so I'd like to find a robust Ipad (Ipad 1) holder that fits to the headrests of the D4 so the children can watch films on long journeys.

Grateful for any recommendations/links.

Thanks.

Thumbs Up

I am sure this got a mention in a thread from a month or two ago, as Land Rover do their own but I think it is around £180, but I am sure in the thread other people mentioned different options.

I will see if I can find it, as I think the tread had something to do with the configurator.

This is the one I was thinking of:

But on searching I see there are a few topics, so I am sure there are much cheaper options available!

Thanks, Fitzy. I may not go for the LR solution (since it costs more than my tablet...)

It is nice to see that Land Rover can still charge a fortune for something that looks like it was made from a coat hanger!

I got this from Amazon - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Patuoxun%C2%AE-Adj...B00DSIJN86 - and fits nicely on the seat grab handle (once you remove the black curved piece of plastic from the bracket) and can be angled so all three kids can see it. I leave the arm attached and drop the iPad clamp into the seat pocket when not in use.
Previously owned an '08 D3 HSE in Stornoway grey but jumped ship to see what the Swedes have to offer.

I bought a Brodit IPAD holder from dsldevelopments.com.

It's in two parts, the headrest stanion clamp, then a device specific holder which fixes (but is tilt and swivelable) to the clamp.

I have a holder for an IPAD 2 and a Mini, they are excellent, they stay put and don't shake.

There's and optional extra bit which adds a quick release capability to the device holder, so that when you park up, only the clamp is visible.

I think I read elsewhere that Brodit are the OEM for the Landrover item, but at half the cost and with more flexibility it's a bit of a no brainer.

I use these for the Disco 3 and the ipad 2

http://www.thesnugg.co.uk/tablet-cases/app...drest.aspx

They are a nice cover for the ipad and a tight fit on the headrest, but work really well and the kids like them (one on each headrest)

Not sure if the Velcro strap will be long enough on the disco 4 as not sure how it differs, but it just goes round the main part of the headrest on the disco 3, and I need to just slide it into the groove between headrest and main seat to fit.

Works very well though, kids really enjoy it, and I use it in conjunction with a Seagate wifi hard drive in the glove box with probably 100 films on, so they can pick and choose what they want to watch without dropping the DVDs or fighting about what they have or have not got.

Also they cant lose the remote control (which invariably they did) amongst the 20 DVD cases they invariably put in the car for a drive across france!

Vogel's in-car ipad holder. V slick and the holder doubles as protection for the tablet. Saved mine from a cracked screen twice so far.

I've posted a pic of it in this thread.

I must say I bought some years ago and they became more of a hinderance getting knocked as people moved about, now the kids have their own and prefer to hold them, the iPads are interactive so a bit pointless stuck up in a holder, well that is how mine found it. The ones I bought years ago were from china and about £3 each, so cheap I just bought extra ones in case one broke Thumbs Up

I agree.... I've had brodit phone holders for a few years just changing the car or phone part as i change cars/Phones. We have an ipad version fitted to the headrest supports for the back seat which works brilliantly (and actually came with me from the Jag I had previously)

I've bought 2 of these Nextbase click and go iPad holders http://www.amazon.co.uk/NEXTBASE-Active-Mo...pad+holder and they are just brilliant. These ones are for Ipad2 but they also do iPad1. Now reduced because they are for older iPads but just great. They charge and the audio is transmitted wirelessly (requires wireless headphones) or can use the 3.5mm input as well. Click and go makes it easy to remove and attach. Big Thumbs Up from the kids.

I bought these iKross Holders from Amazon - http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00HFNH...amp;sr=8-2

You can mount ipads or iphones or other tables either centrally or on the extension that pulls out in the middle of the car. I bought three sets and can mount 3 ipads across the rear, one for each child. If you have one ipad for 3 kids then just buy one and mount it centrally.
