On each side the only two brake lights that normally illuminate are the upper ones. However, despite only being wired for the tail light element, the lower pair are also twin element bulbs.
You can swap the uppers for the lowers on each side and have full service resumed without any expense.
Try it, it will work.
So if I buy 2 more twin bulbs I can slot them in the lower and have like what you have yes?

No, you have twin filament bulbs already.

Don't do the twin brake light mod..... You'll be twice as confused and this thread'll never end If it ain't broke... Take it apart anyway, how else you gonna find out how it works
