Brad, you already have a spare pair of bulbs.
Look at this picture, it's my car with the twin brake light mod.

On each side the only two brake lights that normally illuminate are the upper ones. However, despite only being wired for the tail light element, the lower pair are also twin element bulbs.
You can swap the uppers for the lowers on each side and have full service resumed without any expense. Thumbs Up
Try it, it will work.

Hi ok daft question which are the brake lights. Bottom ones below the reverse lights? As I've changed the bulbs and they still don't work? Any ideas please! Got the bulbs from land rover Halifax. The brake lights are the bottom ones at the back yes? Thanks.

The fog lights are the ones under the reverse lights.

The brake lights are the top most ones - already explained above by Narpy.

Thanks in that case they work when parked up but if driving the brake lights don't work for some reason. When the brake peddle is pushed.

I assume someone has followed you, and verified the lights don't work when driving?

And the lights below the reverse lights are the wrong type of bulb...

Just confirmed that the bulbs in the top set work fine when parked up. It's when I drive and press brake they don't light. Or could
It be they double filament and the filament gone is brake one?

How do you know they're not working when the vehicles moving? Have you driven the vehicle while someone outside monitored the brake lights.

Remove the bulb and have a look at the filaments Whistle

Make sure you are not confusing the brake and side lights. The side light appears in both the upper and lower "round" positions either side of the indicator. The brake light appears in only the upper of these and is brighter than the side light.

Also check the centre high level brake light.

Switch the side/head lights OFF before testing brake lights.

Look at the rear light clusters, it is clearly shown above in Narpy's picture from the top down the first two bulbs on both the rear clusters are the ones in question, forget about the bulbs below the reverse light.

The very top bulbs also function as brake lights, the one below that is only taillights ( unless modded )
