Paint protection from trees and branches

I went to the Peak Distric yesterday in the 90, which will probably be my last trip in it.

Whilst going through the lanes one thing became apparent. If I want to continue using the lanes in a D3 then I am either going to have to buy a tatty one or get some sort of protection from the scratches.

What do people use?

I also use the Deafender rather than the Disco for laning, so I can use all the lanes. But non scratchy lanes are a plenty in the Peaks. You can still have fun Very Happy

Various options, clear stick back vinyl applied on main panels prior to going off road, or get the car wrapped!

Or do what I do, put money aside for a full respray when I come to sell it Rolling Eyes

That protec magnet looks ideal!! I'm suprised this doesn't seem to have taken off in this country!

I've seen somewhere before that you can wrap the car in a roll of cling film. How it would stick to the car I don't know but it seemed to work and it's cheap.

Sunroof or boot with a running jump Laughing

I'd assume if the film was stuck on somehow the door lines could be cut?

Do you want to save some of the pain associated from driving through overgrown tracks?
Well "Road Warrior" paint protection film may be for you!
I found this product via the web and luckily they have an Aussie distributer. I ordered a bottle which is 1 ltr and covers 6 sq m for $54.95 plus postage.
No word on how long you can leave it on but it looks like it can be just left on!
Apply using a small paint roller, yes it will give a "textured" finish but it is worth it for the result once you peal it back off.
The US site: www.roadwarriorplus.com/
Purchase in Aus here: www.roadwarriorplus.com.au/home
It's a white liquid that dries clear, yes with a good soaking it turns milky again but does not blow off in the wind. I still requires pealing off or using a high pressure cleaner to blast it off.

They recommend two coats, the time to apply depends on how much of the car you want to cover.
I applied two coats last week to the sides of my D3, probably took me 2.5hrs.

So glad I put it on, over the last 4 days we traversed some pretty overgrown tracks.
