IID (GAP Diagnostics) tool ordered...

Ive already got a hawkeye, which I think will shortly be redundant (and for sale)
but I need more functions

so after much thought, Ive plumped for the IID Tool Thumbs Up

Ctek Charger will be next buy me-thinks,

after my recent gearbox hissy fit, and now, Looking at the 4x4 info screen it seems my suspension may be wonky. so Calibration required

And to properly reset the gearbox, and Transfer box would be good too.

I also want one or two thing enabling...

going to very cautious with this thing as I don't want a 3ton brick on my drive.. Rolling with laughter

You will struggle to brick your D3 with an IID Thumbs Up

If in doubt though, connect a battery charger

With all programming it is good practice to start with a fully charged battery and to connect an alternate source of power to ensure that the voltage does not drop due to the staggeringly high current draw.

I have a IID tool and too be honest it's all done through the car instrument dash using the cruise control buttons. Never had any battery issues and been playing for at least 1hr on a few occasions Thumbs Up

I do check battery and charge one a week anyway

As Robbie says, it's good practice to have a power source connected, to keep voltages up during any programming work.

Not particularly essential, but D3/D4's are very power hungry, so the more you do to keep it happy, the less likely anything will go wrong during writing/programming Thumbs Up

The IID only connects via USB for updating Thumbs Up

For normal use, it is connected via Bluetooth, or use the cruise control buttons Thumbs Up

Suspension calibration is a doddle Bow down

I've recently purchased the Bluetooth IID Tool, very good and they're always expanding what you can do with it...... Thumbs Up
The best bit, is that it's small and quick to use Thumbs Up
I also have an MSV2, very capable, but I lack the talent it requires to use it fully Embarassed Laughing

Pretty sure that with the latest beta firmware the tool can be controlled via USB and the PC application Smile

Of course I sold my disco before I could test that *sigh*
