Thanks guys. Is it just a matter of crawling underneath and looking for the connector on the gearbox

Another update for you all.
Car still working OK. I've noticed the suspension had lowered when the fault had occurred so not sure if that may be a contributing factor. Since getting it started its remained at normal level.
I've tracked down the Suppressor/capacitor which I've ordered although the bad news is there's a shortage out there of them.
There are 2 Numbers floating around which I have managed to clarify;
NNW502820 this the original part for the Discovery 3
LR020488 this was the part that is fitted to the Discovery 4 which does supersede the original one for the Discovery 3.
They are like Rocking Horse S--T though.
Will keep you updated if anything changes.
Thanks again all
Dave

Sorry I missed the conversation, was it the battery at the end?

Received Suppressor yesterday morning. Fitted in 30 mins, up to now no further problems. Fingers crossed.
