Osram D2S Night Breaker Unlimited Xenarc
Hi,
Has anybody tried these new Osram xenons yet? The bulb sounds good but I can't seem to find any user reviews on here or anywhere else. They may be too new maybe? I am considering an update to mine as I don't know how old the current bulbs are in my D3 (could be original) most seem to go for cool blue intense but on paper these seem better. Advanced factors have them for £60 each.
Any thoughts on D2s upgrade bulbs would be great to hear as it seems a lot of money to spend on bulbs!

There are cheaper options, HID4U do (well did when I got them) Korean H2S bulbs for ~£60 a pair. Been very, very happy with them. Osrams may be better but I was on a tight SWMBO constrained budget.

I have done a few searches and saw that you had some cheaper alternatives from hids4u and that you seemed happy with them. I might still go that route but in my [not always right] mind if I am begrudgingly paying £70 for bulbs am I better off paying another £ 60 for supposedly the best. Would love to compare side by side in real life. D4 HSE Luxury

No idea re side by side tests but comared with the OEM ones they are as good if not better. HID4U gives comparison info in other threads. These are what I bought, better the £60 pair than the ones that were in the lights.

Purchased a set from Advanced Factors a couple of weeks ago, I'd highly recommend them, they're a significant improvement on the original bulbs.

Yes, there's a noticeable increase in visibilty to the side and front of the vehicle, on unlit country roads I've found high beam is not really necessary.
I've also upgraded the high beam H7 with Osram +110% night breaker unlimited for when I need to turn night into day GAP IID Pro Multi Vehicle Defender L316 2007-2015 - Discovery 3 - Discovery 4 - Discovery Sport L550 - Freelander 2 - Range Rover Evoque L538 - Range Rover L322 - Range Rover L405 - Range Rover Sport L320 - Range Rover Sport L494 Electrical Fault Diagnostics

Just out if interest allan, have you noticed he light being more yellow rather than white, due to the colour temp of the bulbs?
Or do they in reality look pretty much the same colour as the OEM ones.
Thanks , Nick Procrastination is the thief of time!!

The new bulbs appear white but I believe the old bulbs were original and had not been replaced, the light output from the old units looked yellow when compared with the Osram.GAP IID Pro Multi Vehicle Defender L316 2007-2015 - Discovery 3 - Discovery 4 - Discovery Sport L550 - Freelander 2 - Range Rover Evoque L538 - Range Rover L322 - Range Rover L405 - Range Rover Sport L320 - Range Rover Sport L494 Electrical Fault Diagnostics

I replaced mine with the unlimited xenarcs - the colour temp went from blueish to white yellow and the light output was increased dramatically, however I don't know how old the bulbs were (they were philips branded so maybe original (56plate)?2006 TDV6 HSE Wrapped Matt Black STOLEN NOT RECOVERED

I had the original bulbs still in my 54 plate. They were a yellow light and had terrible range.
Put new bulbs in, and i now never need my high beams, light range is that good.
Plus my high beams have that "sticking" fault, so they stay up and annoy other drivers till i hit a pothole or stop, get out and give the headlights a thump to knock them down... In loving memory of FA54WSK.
Rest well old friend, your work is done.

and sent them back immediately because ....they were worse than my old ones.

+1 for the Osram Nightbreakers. Purchased from Advanced Factors and fitted last weekend. As in the post above certainly don't need high beam as much now.

Well thanks for the recommendation chaps
I have ordered them now plus the H7's so will fit when here and report back.
I will try and do a couple of before/after shots like Allan did , there is a nice long wooded straight near me with dense tress either side which creates what feels like a tunnel effect for some distance.
This should nicely show length and width with some obvious reference markers for both.
Cheers.
