That is the exact reason, different addresses.
I can confirm my 1533 does not work if i have just activated the lights with the LR remote and the car is awake.
But i can start it with the test software any time, asleep or not.
I think yours is a different scenario, your car was awake, mine wasn't. Mods:

It was a long time ago so I can't recall exactly. But I had a 1533 with remote fitted at the time and was testing the same theory as yours. I 'think' I'd let it go to sleep then blinked the lights and attempted a remote 1533 start.....
I may be wrong, I'd like to know if someone can test it?

Interesting, I never thought of trying it that way, I'll have a trial tomorrow and see what happens.Mods:

Few quick vids of the unit in action. (Next time il remember to turn the camera on its side !!!)
MCLRDIS -disabled mclr pin, now this pin is internally connected to vdd
LVPDIS - disabled low voltage programming
How can I program this pic???
Should it be MCLREN, LVPDIS (to program in high voltage), or MCLRDIS, LVPEN (to program in low voltage)???

I've programmed the pic in a dedicated programmer, not in circuit. Therefore the MCLRDIS and LVPDIS.
As stated in the datasheet, "The High Voltage Programming mode is always available, regardless of the state of the LVP bit, by applying VIHH to the MCLR pin"
If you want to program it in circuit, then you should delete the LVPDIS or use the programmer's config options.
Anyhow, a specialized in circuit programmer (like Pickit2, 3, etc) will know how to handle these.
The __CONFIG macro is also specific to the HiTech Pic compiler and should be commented and/or deleted for adapting the code to other compilers.
