Have used the Comma screen was for tears. Like it cos it really does offer the cold weather protection and does not smeer. That said have bought some Lidl wash to try Richard

I bought 2 bottles of the Lidl stuff a couple of weeks ago.
Couldn't be bothered getting water so just poured the 5 litres into the car, ( it was very empty )
Cleans superb and smells nice too. Shouldn't worry about it freezing up this winter... In loving memory of FA54WSK.
Rest well old friend, your work is done.

I have used this for a few years now, ever since my screenwash bottle froze in 2010 with some "winter" screenwash in it

Any regular Lidl shoppers know if this screenwash is in stock yet this year?
I only go there for this stuff and the mince pies!

I buy stuff from PSA parts that worked out at £8 for 20 litres of undiluted wash
Has a good percentage of Methanol in it so it wont freeze until the temps get way below what we get in the UK but i dilute it 50/50 in the cars i have, smells ok and doesnt smear FFRR Owner, very nearly became a D3 owner
Test piloted a new D4 XS SDV6.. Gone and being forgotten i hope!!

Before the quips start, the raisins do smear a bit and leave crumbs over the screen though.06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

Autosave down the back of Harbour Rd had the Coma stuff last time I looked. Was a while ago but might be worth a look if passing through.
I used the Halfords stuff that was supposed to be good down to -somethingorother when neat, it also froze at -17c.

.....never had a problem with smearing, smell was a bit chemical mind you.......
Smeared like crazy on my Disco...at 1:1 mix that I ended up with after a higher concentration tried...you wash & then it wipes...took a load of wipes before the screen was clear...almost like the fluid was an emulsion....the outside temp was at its coldest last winter -2 deg I seem to recall
Just doesnt work in VW Golf ......it has a fine spray system that works best with VW/Audi/Seat/Skoda stuff which I get for fre in my company car (we have to use theis because its part of the Companies policy on Legionaires disease....?)...I had to have the nozzles swapped out because I tried other fluids......& got my wrist slapped
Tried LIDL stuff in the FL2 & found it smeared there too if not diluted 1:1
note: good wipers on both D3 & FL2
sorry but lol at " outside temp was at its coldest last winter -2"
the guy in inverness at -17 is propbably stll laughing
sorry In advance couldn't resist
Question:........do Aldi do thier own brand too ?
blessed are the losers ,for they determine the winners
