Roof mounted light bars?

I am looking to add another led light bar to my D3 but this time I want to mount it on the roof. I have seen some threads with several of you having done this my question is how did you mount them? What size did you go for 50"?

Prospeed had a picture of one that mounted to the A-Pillars a little while ago. But it seemed to have just been a one off project, I had emailed them about getting one, but nothing seems to have went into production yet.

That looks great! I don't have much experience fabricating parts...I have a 50" curved led bar just can't figure out a way to fit it. Sad

Istr but I think prospeed make them on demand and customise to fit the light bar. There was a chap on here with one... Cannot think who, might have been a Mark?

My 50" is on brackets that attach to the expo rack front mounts.

It's 24,000 lumens working. Curved with spot and flood combo.

It's a great bar!

Just bear in mind the amount of light that'll hit the bonnet from such LED light bars, that they will not out-throw the factory headlamps, and that the severe change in lux from high to low beam will take longer to adjust to. Very bright flood beam if that's what you're after, and convenient, but nothing else going for them. Thumbs Up

Mine came eBay and was shipped from Australia.

It's also angled so that the bottom of the light output just misses my A bar. Thumbs Up

The only change from having headlights and my xenons on is when I turn the xenons off, the light near the front goes from yellowish to white. Laughing

Also my xenons have the sticking high beam issue so I don't use them, I use the bar.
I fitted it to help visibility in the dark for an off road competition and it was great for that.

The bar outshines my headlights by a decent amount.

I'd disagree, have 2 Laser ST04's mounted on top of my rack & set to hit just after losing light from dipped beam, there are some photos on a thread on here somewhere

I wasn't incuding them in my comment - I meant the typical Ebay types mentioned. Thumbs Up

Good LED bars obviously exist and can work well, though there are shortcommings to everything.
