D3 TDV6 engine seized - south-east UK - where to go?

So, my D3 engine has seized (108,000 miles full service history at main dealers then reputable specialist, regularly and gently driven).

The local garage (independent with a good reputation but not a Landy specialist) which it was recovered to has determined that the #4 cylinder injector has logged a fault code and they suggest that over-fueling may have led to hydraulicking, etc. (I have slight doubts about this).

Anyhow, it looks like a short engine may be the best answer, but either way, where would people recommend taking it for strip, proper diagnosis, and repair? The car is presently in Hampshire.

...and any other thoughts gratefully received.

I would say either your crank has gone to a moved shell, or you are another victim of the Oil pump casing failure, as yours is a MY2007. Welcome to the forum.

Challenger 4x4 have been very good to me in the short time I have owned my Discovery. I've had the bushes, alternator and front suspension arms replaced there.

About to get them to do my cam belt and oil pump. They're on the Surrey / Hampshire border http://www.challenger4x4.com/

Depends where in Hampshire you are but, as Nick says, West 4x4 in Waltham Chase come highly recommended by many on here. Thumbs Up

Have you had your belts changed shortly before this happened?
