I must admit that the first time i hit it, i was a little soft because I didn't want to damage anything. But then something came over me and I just belted the sucker. Works every time! Very Happy

Thumbs Up

Well, you could always tell the dealer it "just broke in my hand, obviously faulty - please replace under warranty" Wink

Related(ish), I have the adjustable height tow bar, why is there a green lock & key thingy on that? If you unlock the top, U surely have to unbolt the lower support struts & take the whold thing off??

PS Ignore my feeble Monday early morning rabblings, just seen that it connects where the removable towbar connects so this is to lock it in there! Now the wiser! Whistle

My earlier description of how to remove the key from the detached tow bar may have been a little misleading. I meant to say to hit the firing pin thingy on the top.

Here is a photo of the correct procedure

The instructions tell you to twist, then pull the green release on the towball, but actually you have to PULL, then TWIST!

My key stays in when the towball is off the car.

I have given up trying to pull mine out. I cant even get the key in the key hole now. And when I un-hitch the trailer the tow bar is looser than a looose thing in Loose Land. Shocked Its now a warranty issue with L R

I took mine back to the dealer because I couldn't get the key in. They "lubricated" it, and it works fine now. I guess they are just susceptible to road grime, etc...

I agree. I think it's a mixture of road grime and the machining of parts being skewed towards strength rather than smoothness. (Or at least that's what I tell myself anyway Wink )
