Well I had a practise on my car and I've jacked the tintent twice with no problems, mine hasn't been altered yet and the saddle fitted well on both the Alko chassis of the caravan and on the car.

My usual DAFT question...

has anybody seen the jack provided with the new RRS ?
is it the same meccano one provided previously ?
 BREXIT - done properly.

D3 HSE-perfectly formed, passenger friendly...has real DIPSTICK
Jag XK-but sadly no DIPSTICK...HUGE design fault
FL2 has DIPSTICK..."real comfort in rear seats"
VW Golf wondermobile (?)..has real DIPSTICK
Morris Minor..original DIPSTICK technology..and a real KEY.

Have got mine now so will get on with sourcing the bits Smile

FWIW mine was delivered with the pressure release screw slightly loose, so tightened it up before use Smile

Did you store the jack on its side or upside down rather than vertical as it would be used? Where did the oil come out from?

Just trying to work out what went wrong so I don't do it Whistle

Right way up in a heavily modified "normal" jack carrier. It came out the top, I think. As I said, don't know what I did wrong. Embarassed

When you say top do you mean between the first and second cylinders or the top?

Don't know, just it wasn't raising the car, looked & saw oil everywhere, pulled it out & tried to mop up the oil. Didn't see where it was coming from, was too busy cursing.
