Ok ..i finally got round to emptying my boot out.
I have amended the first post .
The lenght in total is 145MM.
If you dont have a deep 22mm socket then it will be slightly less ..140MM on mine

Thought I should do something about the winder without removing the boot contents and lifting seats, now that I have Coopers and probably wont, get another pucture for while.
First thing I did was water proof the hole.
a short lenth of foam backing rod:

This was glued end to end to make a doughnut, sealant put in hole and over rod then pushed under the lip of the hole:

More sealant added:

I tested if any water got in by aiming a hose above the tyre in every direction; no water ingress at all.
Added a socket and adaptor for extension bar, held in place with some sealant:

I found it difficult locating the extension bar onto the socket so I dremelled a slot into each plastic cover on the seats:

This makes a guide slot when the seats are folded flat:

Put a small hole in the boot liner so all you need is a small wrench and extension bar:

Just wind away!

If a draw system is installed it may be possible to leave a gap here and add a 90 degree drill adaptor and bring the bar horizontally out to the back. You may even be able to put a reverable drill in as part of the kit. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

Under extreme conditions, mud/water above lower tailgate line e.g when climbing steeply out of a mud bath, you WILL get ingress into the car that would normally be stopped by the rubber bung. Only noticed all the mud under the bung when testing out wheel changing for the first time after off roading in deep water / mud. There's one wheel on my wagon, but i'm still rollin' along, it's the cherokee, they're after me, but I'm singing a happy song
