You definitely need to play Admiral carefully. Like some others I gradually added 5 cars onto my multicar policy... The trick they play which does bite you eventually is that they start the policy off adding cars as the old policies from your old insurers expire... Seems great but as you add a car it adds it to the policy which mean all 5 cars then expire on the same day...
This creates a slight issue.. The renewal figure comes in at often double what you originally were quoted by them... This leaves you often just renewing for ease rather than then trying to renew the insurance with independent insurers again.
You can turn this to your advantage providing you are ready prepared and you know this is coming...I always go on the confused.com website and search each car independently again a week before renewal... List all of the prices that you are offered and then negotiate back with Admiral.. They would rather do this than lose you...
Be prepared to haggle with them....
The other advantage is that they will sometimes upscale your NCD with some of your cars so well worth trying...
Do be prepared to walk though and don't be tied to them.. This year only left one car with them and transferred four independent policies with AXA...
Do your homework and save thousands literally!!

Yes, I already spotted this drawback. At the moment with only two cars it's manageable (especially as the two together were cheaper than the Audi on its own...) but next year we might put my daughter's little Clio on as well. ____

It can pay you especially with the daughter dependant on when you add it... We were able to add NCB to my lads VW Polo policy because we added it to the multicar policy before the full year was up...So beneficial to speed up their NCB..
It was also able to run the policy in their name so they accrue bonus in their own name... Renewal this year with 2 yrs NCB as a 20 yr old was £368 fully comp...which I thought was excellent!
Admiral tried quoting £800 upon renewal but because I could quote from other companies they price matched as it was apparent they owned one of the other companies quoted!!!!

I gave up on Multicar policies and have just gone for a trade policy now.
£1250, covers the FF, and currently 2 citroens but apparently i can add and remove as many cars as i want
Also covers normal business use for my proper job as well, but seeing as i want to save some older citroens before they all die and have done a few so far in the last year i wanted a better way to do it
Additional drivers on the policy works out about £100-150 each but i also have 10years NCB as well. FFRR Owner, very nearly became a D3 owner
Test piloted a new D4 XS SDV6.. Gone and being forgotten i hope!!
D4 HSE 10MY
D4 XS 11MY

The mis-fuel cover came as part of a wider set of 'extras' which included keys. Cost was £2.50 per month for the whole set.

Well, that time has come. She passed her test last week, her policy was with Swinton. They wanted £2209 extra (for 7 months) to upgrade her from a provisional to full licence
Admiral was £1109 extra for a month longer. So far so good. ____
