Remap at last
Just checked in with Alistair and he confirmed he's coming down to remap my D3.
He did have problems last week so postponed our meet after I postponed the original, due to some dealer work being carried out.
He's doing a RRS TDV6 first, then me followed by a TDV8 in Kent. Not a bad days work.
I just can't wait to feel how different it is from standard. It's already quicker off the line than my old LC 4.2TDVX and such a surprise considering the 2.7 litre capacity, I really expected it to be slower.
So I'm hoping for Permagrin overload tomorrow morning.
I'll report back later tomorrow when I've got a few RRS stickers stuck on my door.

Fishster,
Alistair did mine 2 weeks ago today and its fantastic. When I first got in it i wasn't that blown away, but I forgot that the remap also seemed to re-set the auto box. After 48 hours, the box had re-learned my style and it was amazing.
Also my MPG has just jumped up between 3 and 4 MPG without changing anything else.
It changes gear earlier, pulls better at all speeds, top end speed is improved, doesnt blow smoke and overtaking is no longer a long term strategy, its a joy.
Could you do me a favour and let Alistair know from me that there are no 2008 plans for Honda to produce an Auto Diesal - It will make sense to him! (if you mention to him I was the one he did at East midlands Hilton with a Flat battery, he will definately know what you mean )
Cheers
Rich

Well it's done.
I must admit to feeling pretty pleased at this early stage, the overtaking is much improved already as is the pull away from stop.
My fuel consumption has shown a fairly dramatic improvement albeit a short test. I drove the 2o miles to where the remap was to be done at a steady 60mph. I achieved 26mpg. I reset the IC and did the same coming back and got 32.6mpg!
Hope this is a taste of whats to come.
I was told by Alistair that it takes about 200 miles for the gearbox to adapt to the new settings.
Money well spent IMHO.

OK ....who is ALISTAIR ???
you reckon fuel consumtion is around 5mpg better??
that way I'll do my sums and see how much 'pay back versus mileage' I'll get....... always on the road less travelled 🚧

Alastair Milne, official Turbochip Dealer & allround top bloke. He went to great efforts to get my remap redone asap after the L/R software upgrades wiped it out.

I have to say that to get a big increase in mpg, you have to drive very gently. Easier said than done, when the performance is so much better. I reckon I only get between 1-2 mpg more.
Worth every penny though to be able to overtake & pull out of junctions with confidence.

Yep, it was me!
I had finished with a client a little earlier than expected, and made my way to where Alistair was. To my surprise he had the gates opened and asked me to wait on the driveway for him to finish. When done we moved to a local pub car park to do mine.
The whole operation on mine took no more than 15 minutes all in.
