No charge for uploading again. I have an arrangement with Alistair that I will meet him halfway as he's in Northampton and I'm in southern Essex. Each new remap gets a unique registration number which is married to the VIN number on the vehicle. This is checked each time the remap is uploaded, he told me it's good for the life of the car as long as you still own it. There have been some guys who have had theirs remapped three times already, one of them is on here.
Seems all positive to me, and the car, which was already the best car in the world, just pulled even further away from the crowd.
FFRR 2017 4.4SDV8 Autobiography. Cost so much I must be mad!

I have the ame arrangement - its only fair as he has to pay the bill to drive out to meet us - to me that could be hefty, so I will always find a way of meeting him at least half way. He's a top nbloke and went out of the way to TC me...

Don't quote me - but i think if you get better MPG by 4mpg, you save around £13 per fill up - easy make back the cost in fuel savings....

Really keen to have this done ...BUT
Are there not any warranty issues should engine /management problems arise?
Also, what about insurance?
Sorry, don't want to seem negative, but this may give dealers and insurance companies the ideal 'opt out' on any claim. ...... always on the road less travelled 🚧

As far as I am aware...
Dealers can't tell (other than by how it drives!)
Insurance goes up a bit - £60 - £150 depending on cover
Other members may have more info?

I've heard that at least one dealer offers TC on new D3's/RRS as standard. The dealers are unlikely to say anything if they want the work, and I have declared the remap to my insurance company. Having said all that, I'm pretty miffed with the dealerships near me as they seem to take the with both price and service. I'll be looking for an independant to do my servicing and if possible my warrenty work too. Recent changes in the law allow independants to carry out work on cars during the warrenty period as long as they use original parts and complete the service to LR standards. That shouldn't be too hard as I've had better service from McDonalds!
BTW my ins co didn't charge me for the upgrade as I only have about 5 weeks left on my existing policy and the new policy is going to cost me £397.00. (Admiral) FFRR 2017 4.4SDV8 Autobiography. Cost so much I must be mad!

Fisherman, with your Admiral policy, did they charge extra for the re-map?

I never bothered asking what the price would be without the TC, they didn't increase it when I swapped from my old Landcruiser 4.2VX and gave me a price with it chipped for the following year.
Budget Insurance were pretty good on their quote at £425.00. FFRR 2017 4.4SDV8 Autobiography. Cost so much I must be mad!

Thanks FM, my policy comes up for renewal at the end of March so I'll get quotes from Admiral & Budget. Not many co.s keen to quote with the re-map.

On the phone to Admiral now as I've just noticed they have me down for 4000 miles per year!
I've also had to update my job/phone and parking place overnight.
Just waiting for the shock now! FFRR 2017 4.4SDV8 Autobiography. Cost so much I must be mad!

With regard to remaps, and I guess, dealer downloads such as the enhancement program, does anyone know if these can be done an infinite number of times, or, one day do you find out that you will have to fork out for new ECU's etc, in order to keep things to the latest spec, or your chosen remap?

Crikey!
An extra £258 for the remap from Admiral, going to recheck Budget a bit later.
What annoys me is the fact I gave them the info regarding the remap when I bought the car and swapped the insurance from my old car. They say that they spoke to me about it but didn't add it coz it hadn't been done yet.
