Let us know how you get on with Budget. I was going to try NFU, but they seem somewhat erratic about accept re-maps.

Pelyma, I think you're probably right, but there seems to be some confusion. I was going to try my local branch anyway.

Hi LT.
No joy at all it seems, I was annoyed to say the least with Admiral as they were aware the original quote was for a chipped D3. They were most interested in the BHP increase %, and had 3 bands of 0%-11%, 11% to 26% and 26% and over. The TC remap gives 26% which meant that they didn't want to cover it at all. At 20% they added £258 to the premium. I didn't get anywhere with Budget as they just didn't want to know. I tried it from the increased torque for towing my caravan and improved MPG, but I think they don't have the ability to think beyond the check boxes they have to fill in. The people on the phone I spoke to were under the impression that I must be a boy racer if I wanted to chip a car. If only they knew I'm a fat old who wants to get out of T junctions more safely.
Don't know where to go with it now TBH.

O.K I appear to have come up trumps with re-mapped insurance. Needs explaining a bit, so pm me if you're interested. I'll reply on the weekend as I'm away on business now & being low tech. etc.

Privilege wanted c.£180 more, plus a £700 excess, but they were still reasonable(ish).
