My car gets washed every 2nd week of good weather.
Spray my wheels with citrus spray because it is cheap and dwells on the wheels whilst I get all the other stuff out.
Then I jet-wash the wheels before snow-foaming and cleaning the car, including the wheels again.
Every other clean I also either Iron X after the citrus cleaner or use Tar Remover (ie I alternate between the 2).
So in ideal weather it is 2 weeks wash; 2 weeks wash and Iron X; 2 weeks wash; 2 weeks and Tar Remover; repeat…
I find this is a nice balance of cleaning, tar and iron removal, low product use and enough time left for a life. Clearly the British weather also helps to keep the washing low and the social life high!

This stuff, usually from the bay. Highly concentrated so makes many many litres of stuff for my pump-bottle.

best stuff I have ever used is...,....wait for it....Mercedes Benz Alloy wheel cleaner....very very good. Next door neighbour has a RRS, doesn't clean it much but used it on his heavily soiled alloys...came up like new on the first go.
I use it in a spray bottle....very good indeed

Polish works best to help prevent it
TBH if you use a lot of heavy braking then a light hose off if possible during or after trips helps, petrol station water hoses are good for this as it helps stop it baking in as the worst stuff is when its hot and eats into the wheel almost FFRR Owner, very nearly became a D3 owner
Test piloted a new D4 XS SDV6.. Gone and being forgotten i hope!!
