Well, it's two adults plus two teenagers who are bigger than their parents... Two sleeping compartments plus a good size living area is fine. I'll take a look at the Oztent, 30 second pitch time has a lot going for it although the length of the pack looks like an issue...! ____

As a camper with 25 yrs experience an owning several tents over the years I would recommend either Vango or Outwell, up to 3 yrs ago I would say Vango swung it but nowadays Outwell in my opinion are superior. We now have a polly cotton Wolf lake 7 which is awesome.

Not a specific tent recommendation as such, but there seems a good supply of virtually as new quality tents being sold privately on ebay. Don't buy new, buy quality used and reflect at your leisure on the bargain.

We recently bought an Outwell wolf lake 7 and it is excellent. Cant get over how much room you get and is so strong with a really useful awning at the front. If you do not need as much space as us, get the Wolf Lake 5. Loads come up on ebay or some shops are clearing the older models. James favourite hobby is writing in the third person.

Hi A1GSS, sorry for late reply
No, not had any problems with the tubes. They are extremely rigid, in fact tent is self supporting so doesn't always need to be pegged out. If you're only passing through for instance, pumping up the 3 ribs is all you need to get a room for the night
The 'inner tubes' zip out of each rib so in the event of a leak they can be repaired (kit included) or worse case they can easily be replaced. Nick

"Mr Kington" (sorry to be so formal) - have you had any issues with the sheer size of that Outwell tent, unpacking it, lugging it about or whatever? ____

I still don't know why I chose Mr Kington. I need to get it changed so i don't sound like such a tool.
Re the size of the tent it is mahusive. It weighs more than my wife and takes up a lot of the boot. But it is worth it. You can squeeze it in behind the middle seats and then sit the poles on top of the tent bag and then just keep stacking (which is why I need a half height dog guard !) We also have the carpet, ground sheet and other bits for it. We all have camp beds which fit with lots of room in each of the bedrooms with enough space to walk around them and store clothes etc underneath. Very practical (other than weight and size ) but we just came back from 4 days in Norfolk and our tent was the coolest by far. Everyone else had a polyester tent and they were like mini ovens during the day. I think the Poly cotton is worth the extra cost and if you look after it then it will last for years. The tent also has the separate bath ground sheet that you zip in so it never leaks. All in all for £750 quid (it had been used once before we bought it) it is perfect for a family of 4. Thanks, that's very useful.
The pitching seems reasonably simple assuming the Outwell video isn't a bunch of edited lies...
The package is about £1400 new now. I'm watching eBay... ____

I am afraid it is a bunch of edited lies......... Debbie and I did it in the back garden and it took us ages (was our first time so took over an hour ) you do need three people in my opinion and eventually you get the knack of it. the hardest bit is standing it up, putting the pins in the bottom of each pole then trying to lift it and walk it forwards. On the video they edit out the bit about putting the pins in funny enough !! its worth it once it is up though. The brand new ones (ours is a 2011 model) are awesome, tinted windows, no side poles blah.....
When I did my research a while back I read in a few forums that the air tents have had problems leaking water. I guess they are a bit like a car in regards to all the niggles will be worked out after a few years and then they become a practical proposition. An hour.
Ho hum. I can put the current beast up in that time even allowing for a mid way beer stop.
Maybe I need to think again. ____

In Norfolk I reckon we had it down to 30 mins, with someone just helping us walk it out. It is a big tent so i guess will take longer than most. Promise they are worth it though ! James favourite hobby is writing in the third person.
