Adding OEM DVD and TV etc..
Im sure this has been asked to the death but im new here so please bare with me lol.
Just stuck a deposit down on a Land Rover Discovery 3 SE. It has built in Sat Nav but no DVD or TV. Im sure there is a way to add an OEM dvd player and digital TV tuner.
I cant open the dash to check if I can add to what I have already there or if I need all new stuff because I havent got it yet. But ive been trying to find out for ages and with no luck.
Basically like ive said before im sure this has been asked 1000 times already and sorry but could someone please tell me what equipment i would need and rough prices?
Ideally I would love DVD and Digital TV on the front screen using the menu's (just like my grandad's old RR Sport only he had no TV) and later add screens that simply mirror the front screen when TV or DVD is on in the back headrests.
Thanks a lot everyone, look forward to speaking with people from here.
Lighter.

Hi lighter7,
I fitted the OEM hybrid digital tv to mine, input together a list of things you need and a quick basic guide.
With regards DVD on the front screen, that is something that as far as I am aware was never a OEM option.
Most people use a gvif unit from hids4ud4 HSE in Corris Grey with Black options pack
D3 with the following
Alive Tuning EGR blanking kit
Alive Tuning Re-map
Alive Atrics console
Samco intercooler hoses (from Alive Tuning)
Alive Tuning De-Cat pipe, lovely tone!
Retrofit OEM Hybrid TV tuner

DVD player was part of the RSE (rear seat entertainment )
you can fit the dvd player , but it needs the RSE module to make it work
iv retrofitted it in a couple of my D3's G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Thank you all for the help. Just picked it up today and loving it
Really want to get the DVD/TV sorted went into the menu and it just says DVD/TV not fitted so it seems it can be done which is good. Also trying to find out how to get the 4x4 screen up. Because for some reason I dont have it. Have bluetooth and a subwoofer tho which is nice lol.

O right I didnt know that, the only experience I have with any Land Rover is when I used to drive my Grandad's Range Rover Sport HSE lol so I keep thinking mine should have what his had. Ah only problem with getting it sorted is I live in N.Ireland lol. Will have to go on the hunt for someone with the kit. There is a garage I might ask, they seem to have everything.
Hi, I've been considering a DVD/TV setup install at the same time as retro fitting my SatNav system....(well while its all apart right? )
One question tho, do you need this RSE module if you are fitting the OEM Rosen flip down DVD player or is that a stand alone plug and play unit? Is the RSE module just needed for the headrest monitors?
Thanks

You don't need it for the rosen drop down screen
You do need it for rear headrest screens ( original LR ) and for the DVD install ... Oh and the RSE menu on screen
You can fit tv on its own without the RSE unitG4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Just went to Land Rover to see about getting wiring for installing a OEM DVD player and guess what. They said it cant be done. They are saying you have to flash the ECU and all?
I take it thats not the case lol. Ah well not to worry DIY job it is then.

I take it that would be easy done, if I can get my hands on a Faultmate (or whatever its called lol).
You were right about trying to get the wiring, seems LR dont even have them on their parts computer.
Can the Standard Land Rover computer do the programming thats needed? Because there is a garage near me called BLRC and they said they would give it a go when I get it all wired up, etc. But they dont have a Faultmate they just use the LR computer.
