Well it started with suspension going into extended mode on a flat car park, then it gave me some messages about vehicle raising slowly and then it collapsed altogether the next day and looked like someone had pimped my ride!
Land rover assist came out and diagnosed a cross-articulation problem - intermittent and advised that i limp it to my dealer 1st chance and he arranged a hire car. got to dealer after very uncomfortable 9 mile drive with no suspension and was given a ford focus
have called landrover assist 3 times to upgrade this as i do 1k miles a week and they have still not got back to me with any offer. dealer has said that do not know what the fault is yet so will need it for a few more days.
So I have had the car for 19 days and they will be on their 5th tomorrow.
If it gets to the point where we have equal ownership they will be getting it back full time in exchange for my money back! Should be a clear case of not fit for purpose nor merchantable quality.
i wish i had listened to my friends warnings about LR reliability. It is a great car to drive but I have never had this sort of issue from any new/nearly new vehicle before. very disappointed.
anyway, survey completed......

UPDATE- filled out my suspension survey a while back. Now on my 2nd compressor. After the 1st compressor was replaced the symptoms disappeared......for a little while. They have since returned. I brought the vehicle into my dealer (Bellevue, Washington, USA) and they were "unable to diagnose". On the third visit they diagnosed a "faulty connector" and repaired. On the way home "BING BONG" and the dreaded suspension fault. The only difference between the issue pre-compressor replacement was that the faults would not go away with a reset. Now, I can usually get the fault to clear with a reboot but not always. Frustating as hell, especially in light of the fuel tank replacement, speaker replacement, etc, etc. It's now eligible for my local Lemon Law, but I'd like to see Land Rover North America step up and have a chance to rectify before I have it legally declared a lemon. 2005 LR3 HSE

Hi All, Well have only just taken over my new Disco 3, so I will not comment here yet, but will in a few weeks, a big trip, but after owning a 1995 rangie for 7 years, the suspension will be the same, but after 400km just to pick it up, its great so far.

New to all of this as we have only owned our Disco since 26th Jan. Unfortunately it has spent more time with Stratstones of Stourbridge than with us.
Ours is an ex Landrover management car, so you might have expected that all of the updates had been installed, but it appears not. Suspension failure every time we have used it for a journey of more that 20 miles.
New compressor installed but has not cured it. It's at the dealers now having software updates installed. Apparently there is a communication timing issue on the CAN Bus between the engine and suspension ECU's.
It's also had all of the park brake faults of course.
I hope it's sorted because I really like it, but my wife wants to return it under the 30 day / 1000 mile exchange. Discovery TDV6 S Silver
BMW Z3 Blue
MGB GT Red
Aston DB6 Blue
When it's good it's very good, but when it's broken I want my money back.

We purchased an ex LR dealer disco 3 in sept 05.
Oct 05 Suspension Failure - replaced compressor
Jan 06 Sqeeky brakes - replaced shoes & pads
Feb 06 Suspension Failure - new height sensor
Feb 06 Coolant level warning - replaced expansion bottle/sensor
Mar 06 Suspension Failure/engine system failure - Software download
Today 11 Mar 06 Suspension Failure - waiting for dealer to call mon.
During these failures we also receive Brake, active headlight and suspension warning lights.
Also radio locks up now and then but they can't find a problem with this.
Sorry to go on but getting really frustrated now!

I am on my second discovery 3 as i sent the first 1 back after 10 months of hell constant suspension problems, my second disco 3 is going the same way, its not 4 months old yet done 4,000 miles & is constantly dogged with suspension failure problems i think its a bag of S--t, the worst car i have ever owned & will be the last Land Rover i ever buy & i have had 5 in total now well fed up .
email me at idmams@aol.com.
I would be interested to hear from everybody as i feel when i talk to my dealer that i am the only 1 with this problem.

Sorry to be a kill-joy, but I thought the same. My third in 12 months has started to play up after 4 weeks and 1500 miles, if only I could go back in time.

Sorry to hear that MVS
I know there are a lot of problems but surely not all D3's sold have them??????
It is such a shame as it is a lovely vehicle in all aspects.....when it works! I thought I would give them another try as the car fits our requirements perfectly but will reject it at the slightest sniff of trouble.

Yup, my dealer had a buyer lined up for my first one, was in new hands in less than a week.
My second one currently resides on the forecourt, awaiting a buyer.
At the end of the day these things are just a comodity with a value, the dealers make money selling them then fixing them then selling them again.
