Oil changed and EGR's gone. |
|
Hi,
I was brave yesterday and changed my oil and filter, also replaced the sump plug as advised. All went lovely until I realised I didn't have a 32mm for the filter housing. Even the metal under tray was quite easy to get off. Although for some reason I was using a spanner and hammer to crack them loose. Well I did until I hit the spanner it spun out my hand and hit me on the forehead. Then thought best use the right tools for the job. ( that could have been my eye ).
Quick drive and felt smoother and quick to respond. Am wondering if the oil was changed now during the last service!
I had already bought a BAS egr blanking kit from a member. Then had a quick read on here how to do the mod and thought better of attempting it myself. But because the oil change went so well choose to try. I actually used the instructions from Pete's site. Was very methodical and did one step then checked on the laptop then the next step then checked laptop then did it and so on. Even with a cup of tea and telling the children of a couple of times both sides only took an hour. So shocked
Doubled checked everything before putter plastic cover back on and starting. Can't wait to try her out later to see if there is any improvement.
Although I only really did this as a preventative measure the egr stubs were pretty coked up with soot.
Cheers Mods:
