hi again,

when the solenoid clicks engaging, use a multimeter and put it on tone for checking continuity, jump form the 12v plus from the car original battery to the output on the other side to see if you get tone, if so then the second battery earth needs checking to ensure its seeing the same earth as the original one to the chassis.
