Stratstone Ashford - First Service Ripoff |
|
Juust been talking to Stratstone Ashford or Stratstone Heathrow, whatever they are calling themselves this week!!
In fairness they did me a very good deal when I purchased the car. However, they are trying to get it back on the servicing!!
I was initially quoted £447!!
After pointing out that a lot of places do it a lot cheaper, and that I should be a valued customer, they agreed to drop it - to £379.
Just called Lancaster Reading, can do it while I wait on a Sat morning for £290 all in. Guess where I'm going??
Joness7 2018 1.5Ti Skoda Octavia - dull as f&ck

Since buying my D3 I had nothing but trouble from the rude arrogant lying time wasters at Heathwood/Stratstone Heathrow, highly recommend avoiding them like the plague. Lancaster's get my business
Can't really fathom the 'match any price' thing, they're not going to match at a loss so surely if they're able to do it they're overcharging to start with? Do you really want to give your business to a company that will overcharge you if they can get away with it? The End

The trouble is LR doesnt set the price and expects 'jo public' to shop around. Car dealerships always try to get away with what they can and the ones that dont either have a huge customer base or they eventually go out of business...

Stratstone Nottingham quoted me £539 for my 15K service last year.
That's Nottingham. Up North(ish). Not fancy London prices/wages. FIVEHUNDREDANDTHIRTYNINEOFYOURENGLISHPOUNDS!
Sod that, I thought. I went to Sturgess Leicester for £299. they even gave me a courtesy car.

I first phoned and asked the price for a 24000 service a nice sounding lady replied £496 that inc vat & parts
I replied that i spoke to a different dealer the 1st one that came to mind and said i was quoted £322 they said they would price match them.
The other dealer and price i made up and saved £180 quid how do they do it £180. It's disgusting. And I feel disgusted with myself about doing what i've done but do's that now make me a

I think the moral is: if YOUR dealer starts with 'Srat' and ends with 'stone' go there with a big fat wallet !!
And be prepared to be frisked. ...... always on the road less travelled 🚧

I have just had my 15K service ( car had done only 10k). I went to Statstone in Stockton, used to be Rossliegh and before that Dutton Forshaw. I had read about cost and rang a couple of places and ended up paying £352.00 for the service. I didn't think the breakdown of cost was excessive apart from cost of oil change- charged £80.00. Disapointed about that but best price I could get in area for service. Disco 3 TDV 6 S

There's nothing much to do for the dealer apart from move their fingers up the keyboard on the invoicing computer to make the number bigger !

So price matching is a way of ensuring the dealer get the business if the customer takes the time to look around for potential savings.
Whoopee do !!!
Why not price the service charges fairly and correctly in the 1st place and retain your customers TRUST so they don't have to look around. Customer loyalty is not rocket science.
Guess what. When they are looking for a new LR they WILL look around for price and not TRUST the dealer that overcharges but promises price matching.
My dealer gets my business because they charge fair pricing for the work they do !
End of.
