How many miles until my next service is due? |
|
Is there a quick and easy way to find out exactly how many miles until the next service is due, or do you have to wait for the 1,000 miles countdown indicator to come up?
It's 10k miles since my 3rd service (last October). I'll be doing another 1k over the next 4 weeks, and then taking the D4 away and will be doing at least 2 - 3k miles in the Highlands and Outer Hebrides, well away from a LR dealer. I was going to just book it in for an early service just before I take her away, but Harwoods Croydon say £800+ for the 4th service(!). #ouch
Given the cost, not so sure I want to service a little bit early, but on the flip-side - and given it's a Land Rover, I quite like the idea of a thorough technical check before I take the car away to some fairly remote parts of the country...
What to do...?! 747_JK

Isn't the service interval 12months or 16000 miles?
If you're okay on time, it'll be thinking about booking its holiday at the dealers after you return from your long trip. "The quality remains long after the price has been forgotten." Henry Royce

Ah, is it a 16k interval? I knew it was around the 15k level, but wasn't sure if it varied depending on driving style etc...
In which case, I might put it in for a pre-holiday "levels check", and at the same time get them to look at why sometimes on starting it puts our a load of stinking smoke!
And then get the big service done on my return. Just didn't want the service request to come on whilst in the Outer Hebs, with still a lot of mileage left to do... 747_JK

I believe IF you are going to keep you car long term you should change oil & filer @ half L:and Rover's recommended mileage.
