Since booking it in a the Dealers, the fault hasn't appeared again, the Dealer had it for today and no faults logged and the fault could not be replicated.

Booked in again at the Dealers, only this time the the "normal height only available" message would not clear on a restart, added to the message was "press OK to clear" only it wouldn't, well until it drove to the Dealers and on a restart it cleared, it was lit all the previous day and would not clear

Update on mine, New Compressor required surprise surprise, don't have one in stock, so they've ordered one yet they are to busy to fit it until the 19th, yes thats right they can't do it for seventeen days

I expect they have got seventeen other compressors to fit !!
At this rate it will be an item on the service schedule - change oil & filter, fit new compressor.
I wonder if this is an issue with Range Rovers ? If you can't fix it with a hammer - it must be an electrical fault.
