Clock spring sounds expensive!

Going to have another check tomorrow to see if this carpet lifting funds anything. Otherwise it's going to get really expensive.

Clock spring isn't too bad. As long as you don't set the airbag off. Thumbs Up Wink

It needs, new front disc's, lower arms, steering arms, and now a possible clock spring.. as well and needing a gearbox flush.

I'm sticking it on a local diagnostic to see what they say as i cant find any wiring issues with it. So it must be something hidden.

Sad side is, despite being as tight as i can get them, my drivers seat base is a bit loose.. can slide it about half an inch forwards/backwords. I've checked all 4 T40 torx bolts and they are all tight. Confused

Plus the passenger one makes a creaking sound now.. Rolling Eyes Sad

*sigh*

Got the car hooked to an auto logic system today to get the codes read.
Codes found relating to the system as the following

B0096-81
B1A00-16
U1A00-88
U0073-88

However, once the guy did a reset of the system the airbag light went out.

There were 74 codes stored, ranging from light bulb failures to EGR issues, EGRs were blanked by a previous owner..

All wiped and its saying it needs an air con regas. Laughing

Hopefully the light will stay off now.

It might. If anything it will tell you all the faults the system has in store, mine had plenty from when it had a flat battery from a previous owner and the full system had gone in a huff.. Laughing

From reading the autologic wordings, it was due to the drivers side seat buckle losing a signal for a second which sent the system into huffy mode.
They think it may have been when the seat was moving back/forwards and the wire got moved a bit.

It's sorted now, so hopefully will stay off now.

Light came back on today, will take it back to the garage and get them to switch it off.

Will get them to check a few other bits while it's hooked up to the machine.

Most likely that seat belt buckle lost connection again. Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Laughing

Did you get this solved ? I also had the airbag light come on today, after moving the front seat. Cleared it with the IID-tool but it kept coming back. After poking at the wiring under the seat, the light went out.

Yes I get this too. Wiggling the wires under the seats clears it. My fault code is B0072 (Passenger's safety belt pretensioner deployment control). There is a TSB out for some related faults. I haven't gone through this yet (only found this TSB a few days ago) so not sure if it fixes the problem but might be worth a try for anyone else here. Will have a go at it when I find some more time (probably never Rolling with laughter ) or if the light comes on permanently

I swore at it.
Light went out. Hasn't came back on since. Thumbs Up

My initial issue was the seat buckle loosing electrical signal for a second. Throwing on the light.
Cleared with an autologic machine.
