Well... you're all a bit behind the times here I'm afraid.........I bought 6 trees last year.... and despite the goodwill gesture being publicised here it wasn't followed up by anyone that I'm aware of.
When you carry out the perceptive 'good' deed there can be a feeling that the mere acknowledgement of global warming meant that I was agreeing with the doom-mongers. This is not the case ... I just acknowledge that despite the crap dished out by the so called scientists, my vehicle still puts out co2 and that can be countered by the trees.......... and this is ultimately why I bought them.

No matter what we drive / use for transport ( even walking) produces more CO2. Just plant because on balance we all are responsible it even peeus clowns.Did you think I would leave you crying,
When there's room in my D3 for 7,
Climb in here Joe we'll soon be flying,
I can go just as fast with 7.

People produce it too. So, If I am relaxing and destressing by sitting in my beautiful D3, going up a gentle 2mile long hill at say 20MPG and Mr. Green is puffing away on his mountain bike doing the same thing, oh, and Mrs. Green has decided to get off and walk the hill, who actually produces the least CO2 for that 2 miles?
I really shouldn't be allowed out should I?

Hang on..........am I missing something here?
According to this CO2 calculator I am emitting nearly 5 tonnes of CO2 every year, just from my company car.
A very rough calculation comes up with the total weight of all the FUEL I used last year, to emit this 5 tonnes, at less than 2 tonnes.
I take the point that it takes CO2 to produce and transport the stuff but surely not that much.
If so maybe savings in that area would have more impact.

The calculation of co2 'weight' is a complicated one. I'm sure DSL will explain how it is the way that the gas combines with other elements to give the figures. It's not as straightforward as measuring the weight of fuel you put in in the first place. 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021
