*UPDATE* Retro fit memory seat update
Today I received my IID tool, told the car I had memory seats etc and still get the bursts and no memory.
I think the bursts are a bit longer, but still no good

I bet there’s another CCF to edit. You probably found a nice easy one like ‘Memory seat module - fitted’ but I bet there’s an obscure one like ‘Seats - undefined’ or something like that.

Thanks for the reply.
I have a picture showing showing what I THINK is the correct settings.
But I also have a fault code also below.
Any ideas?

Have you put additional wiring in? What did you start with and what have you fitted? It sounds like with that code that the BCM isn’t getting comms with the memory module on the CAN. I’ll check the DTC tonight.

Thanks.
the car was originally specced with cloth manual seats and I fitted these HSE seats.
I also fitted the door switches.
I was lead to believe that the D3 needed extra wiring, but not the D4. Some people have reported they just worked, and others that they had to update the CCF. Some haven't got them working at all.
The module on the seat is from the same year as my car, so I would have expected it to work.
Your help is very much appreciated, as this has been a loooong process so far and i am still stuck!!

I’ll take a look tonight. In the mean time...was the wiring fitted to your car or did you have to fit the looms?
Have you activated mirror dip on reverse selection in CCF? That appears to go hand in hand with the memory function and memory seats CCF and may do more that what it’s name suggests.

No i hadnt updated the mirror dip, I will do that this after noon, thanks.
I just plugged in the sockets from the seat into the socket that was in the car-the colours and number of sockets matched the cars loom.

Chris, this is the problem IMO - the seat connectors in GS (and I think most XS) don't have the extra blocks (brown and purple in these pics) that the HSE seat is expecting and its getting those in or faking the memory module that they are there is the goal to have seats working without 5 seconds burst (which I couldn't put up with) ...

That probably has some bearing then, purple is for the occupancy sensor and brown is to the memory module so that could be a biggy! Good thing is, the connectors are available as spare parts.

Soooo.
I just took the connectors apart, and I think that is the issue.
The car side of the loom is missing wires for where the brown and green connectors ar on the seat side of the connectors.
So the sockets are there (its one big block) but there are no wires going into it from the car.
Big question is, is it possible to (and easy) to fit a new wiring loom on the car side, or does it go for miles into the dash along with another million wires?

I would expect the missing wires to run to soldered joint in the loom. Not a huge job. I’ll take a look.

So brown connector C0751 (Seat) is connected to C2368 (main harness)
Pin 1 Yellow White on C0751 connects to pin 13 of C2368
Pin 2 Yellow Blue to C0751 connects to pin 14 of C2368
Connector C2368 pin 13 runs to Solder Joint SJ2000
Connector C2368 pin 14 runs to SJ2001
To find those joints, you need to expose the main loom running along the sill. Remove RH Boot trim, remove drivers seat, remove sill trim, remove the harness cover under the sill trim.
Find the connector C3760 which is grey, has 8 contact positions. It is easy to see behind the right boot trim (removed) as it just has wire popped back into itself. Normally it’s clipped to a bracket but they can be laid along the main loom.
Now you need to follow the Yellow/White wire from pin 1 towards the front of the car until you come to a lot of yellow/white wires joining together inside a black heatshrink joint. Remove heat shrink and glue and solder your yellow white wire into that and reseal with glue and heat shrink. Now do the same for the yellow/blue from pin 5.
Just noticed you could probably locate the soldered joints by following Pin 19 and 20 from connector C0398 which is the door harness connector but it’s a pain to get to.
That’s the brown connector done and will put the module on the CAN.

Next one is purple. This is for the SRS system. Did your previous seat not have air bags? I’m guessing as these seats must have airbags, the occupancy sensor allows the airbag to deploy if their is an occupant. I thought this would be present in all seats but obviously not.
Purple is connector C7xx (Seat) which connects to C2368 (Main harness)
Pin 1 Yellow/Brown on C752 connects to Pin 19 Black of C2368
Pin 2 Yellow/Black on C752 it connects to Pin 20 Light Green of C02368
Connector C2368 Pin 19 runs to Connector C2561 which is an earth point under the console with other SRS earths.
Connector C2368 Pin 20 runs to Connector C0256 Pin 17 which is the SRS module next to the earth stud above.
To do both connectors on both seats, I’d estimate 6 hours or so.

Wow, thats going to take me while to understand!!
Yes all the seats have had airbags in them, thats a bit odd.
I have to go out for the rest of the day now, but thank you for this.
I will let you know how I go on, but it might be a while until I can take on such a big job
