It shouldn’t be to hard to track down the solder joints. They will be right next to each other and will probably have at least 3 wires of the same colour joining together and wrapped in a cheap bit of Blue (normally) or black insulation tape or heat shrink.

Success
Well thanks again to M3Bobby
Got this working today. Seat out, trim moved back and found connections by the RH Pillar:

(recognise your blade Chris )
Wired into them my new loom that comes from the brown seat connector and hey-presto an HSE seat fully working in a GS car without stuttering
Waiting on door memory module to test that that part works (can't see why it won't) and once in my lowly GS will be full HSE spec now (bar sunroof) .

Nice one Nick, I’ve got dozens of scalpels so you can keep that one. I’ve probably got more blood on my wiring than what’s left in my body.
It’s quite easy when you know what wires to look for and where to find them.

memory working!
Got full memory functionality working, again all credit for this goes to M3Bobby with wiring advice from other side of the world .
First the seat connections: I didn't have wires car side for connections 17 & 18 (the green connector on the seat block). These basically enable to memory function and need connecting up to the memory switch pack that sits on the door card.
I set up a test loom and hey-presto it worked 8) . Then the hard work started with routing the wiring correctly through the connector blocks.
Here are M3Bobby's notes that I followed
Quote:
So on the switch pack you should have 3 wires at the pack for memory, connector C3560 pin 5,6 and 7 all black at 0.5mm diameter. They are 1465mm long and insert into connector C3646 the door side of the connector. So-
C3560-6 to C3646-18
C3560-7 to C3646-3
C3560-5 to C3646-2
At the car side of the door connector, C0398
Pin 18 Silver/Purple 0.35mm Diameter x 2130mm long to C2368 pin 17 (car side of seat connector)
Pin 3 Yellow 0.35mm Diameter x 2130mm long to C2368 pin 18 (car side of seat connector)
Pin 2 Black 0.5mm Diameter x 750mm long to Earth C0558R
At the car side of seat connector, C2368
Pin 17 Silver/Purple should match pin 1 on green connector on seat side of connector
Pin 18 Yellow should match pin 2 on green connector on seat side of connector
C3560-6 to C3646-18 - I needed to add a connector to C3646-18 as it wasn't there car side
C3560-7 to C3646-3 - I was missing C3560-7 in its entririty so had to fashion a connection + wire to go all the way through to the seat.
C3560-5 to C3646-2 - present - easy!
Not an easy mod and time consuming but its going to be a joy hitting that memory button after the Mrs has been driving
I’m undertaking this project myself. Just a few questions if someone can help me...
I have a memory module which I have plugged in under the seat. I have plugged in the main wiring plug and have movement in 1 sec bursts as expected. I could probably live with this as it’s rare anyone else drives my car but if it was handy I would try and solve this one. Am I right in thinking it’s the brown plug on the seat that needs connected to the two solder joints mentioned on page 1 to solve this? Any pointers as to where I might find the solder joints along the sill?
Also, what would I search for to get the pins to go into the block connector??
Thanks

So the bursts are down to the canbus not being connected to the seats.
If you follow thread through it should give you a good starter for 10.
I think I have done something silly….. seats are in and were working with 1 second bursts as expected. I disconnected the underseat connector to take a look and work out the best approach for adding pins and soldering back to the loom. Seen what I needed, reconnected everything and tested the seats but no movement. IID gives the following faults:
BCM-Body Control
U2101-00 (2F) Control module configuration incompatible
( on 23-06-2021 21:28:36 at 180779 km )
U0208-00 (2F) Lost communication with the seat control module A
( on 23-06-2021 21:28:36 at 180779 km )
DDM-Driver Door
U2101-00 (2E) Control module configuration incompatible

IPC-Instrument Pack

PDM-Passenger Door
U2101-00 (2E) Control module configuration incompatible
( on 23-06-2021 21:28:44 at 180779 km )
Any ideas what’s going on? The fault immediately reappears on clearing. I’ve disconnected and reconnected again and all pins look straight and so should be connecting up ok. Memory module is in place and connected underneath as far as I can tell. I may have tried to make ccf changes inc memory seats and I may now not remember what the defaults were under memory seats. Would a change there cause this?

Yes, your CCF needs re-editing. Go to genesis and put in your VIN, it will tell you what the default settings are for your vehicle. If you have IID or similar that pull the VIN from your seat module, you could search that VIN on Genesis to obtain the power seat CCF.012MY RRS 5.0 Supercharged Autobiography (Current)

Cheers. I had a look and I think my problems were twofold. One, I had edited the ccf wrongly although returning this back didn’t clear the fault. So I think my first cause was that one of the connectors into the memory module must have got caught and wasn’t as well attached as it should have been. I fixed that and re attached and it’s working….. for now!
Also big thanks to you for your advice on page 1 re the soldering in to remove the 1sec bursts. Worked a treat.

I've just completed a memory seat upgrade in my 2014 Australian TDV6 which had manual seats. It was quite a bit simpler as follows:
- brown connector to put module on bus already in car loom
- purple connector for SRS already in car loom
- no 1sec bursts
- green connector for memory already in place but with only one wire
Therefore I initially assumed I would need to run the second wire from switch pack through door to seat green connector just like Famousfive and even prepared a cable from seat down to door sill. However upon testing the memory switch pack, it worked immediately just with CCF updates, no extra wires required. My switch connector in the door (the green one) had 6 wires and nothing in position seven. So not sure exactly what has changed but it is certainly fully operational with memory.

Don’t forget that memory isn’t just for seats, it’s for the mirrors and a number of smaller selections (miles/Km being one, although that one is software driven). Without looking I can’t be sure but suspect your missing wire is for me mirror memory.
