They have a Cooper type 50,000km warranty.
Does that mean it's not worth the paper it's written on, like the Cooper warranty??
ie only if bought and used within a capital city!
I mean I obviously bought the STT's solely for use on the cafe strip! Have a nice day!

Just read this...
"One of our car club members has a RR Sport TDV6 which he fitted General Grabbers to for a trip up Cape York last year, the tyres went well on the hard stuff but when he got out around Birdsville in the sand, he found that they just dug holes and bogged the car.
He said it looked great on video, having four rooster tails coming up from the car wheels, however he just couldnt get up any sand hills that even toyota's etc found easy going, even so he said it was a lot of fun..
TDV6 "
This must be a mix of wrong tyre air pressures and driver error - most unusual for any LR to sruggle like that - and I've done sand trips with everything from road tyres to Simex Jungle Trekkers - if you manage the throttle well, and have the pressures right, you can go most places.
IMHO

Has anyone got these (ie General Grabber AT2) on their D3 yet and care to comment? I suppose it's too early to know how they will go long term, but I was mainly concerned about any noise and/or vibration issues as they seem to be on the cheap side, and wondering whether or not it's a case of you-get-what-you-pay-for...

Zetecr,
I know a few people who ran General Grabber AT2 on their defenders and discovery 2s, and were very happy with them.
cheers,

When I worked in a tyre factory QC inspection was part of the building/moulding/finishing process including grinding out of balance tyres and it was done as a continous process until they trucked them to storage.
So built in Jan and QC'ed them in Mar is a long time for that process
Anyway hope they will be available soon to provide another option for 18's in Oz.

Actually, I was told they are in stock and can be fitted within a day or two of order... I hope they weren't fibbing.

Yep, I could almost guarantee that they are talking about the 255/55/18 AT Tyres not the 255/60/18 AT Tyres that alot of us are waiting on.

Listen up you lot! Take an "S" model for a test drive. Run it 'round the corner to where your "SE" or "HSE" is parked...no hang on, it doesn't work for the "HSE". Anyway, get around the corner to where the "SE" is parked and swap the 17" rims for your 18" rims. Problem solvered.
This thread reinforces why I made swapping the 17" rims from an "S" onto my "SE" part of the original purchase agreement. It cost me $500.00 to have the original tyres swapped for a full set of 265/70R17 BFG A/T's. Now I can get tyres just about anywhere in this big, broad, brown land without hassles. Thank God for the "S" model.
Just a little tip though - the spare tyre has to be carried partially deflated to fit under the vehicle.
You guys should ring or email Solihull and explain to them just what A/T tyres are for. D4: Expedition Rack, 104 Litre Long Range Tank, Raised Air Intake

You can do it with an HSE, as long as it's a TDV6! Have a nice day!

Ok, just spoke to Scott the sales manager at General tryes, he is saying May now for the AT grabbers. I dont think I will wait as my Wranglers are not very pretty(only 21K) , and it seems to me to be taking an awful long time in quality control might try them for the next set if all reports are good. Can anybody tell me if they are happy with their current tryes 255/60/R18S'? Jamo is with his R17 STTs but hasn't had a chance to try them in the rough yet. Anybody given the Cooper STTs a good workout on sharp rock and gravel? interested in your reports.
Thanks again.
