No! Grrrr.
Awaiting phone call from dealer, but it seems to be lost in the delivery system. It was built 2weeks ago, but never arrived at Guy Salmon. Not pleased as I am taking a week off and it would have been nice to have it.

It is yes. I am expecting a call today, with an explanation. So if that's not forthcoming, I will have to escalate it.

I assume they give you a loaner while the build/repair/ship it back from Aus. Delete as appropriate.

Got to speak to salesman at 17.15 today, the annoying thing was I had to phone him. I suspect he would not have called me if left alone. This was despite me leaving 2 messages today. He did apologise for not getting back to me, but said there was nothing new to say, and that he was as frustrated as I am because its not just my car that is late.
I asked him if there was any way he could track the delivery schedule from the factory, he said he could not, and they just turn up whenever. All he has is a build week, which in my case was over 2 weeks ago. This I find most odd, as it means a fully loaded transporter turning up unannounced in the centre of Stockport and causing mayhem!
So I am none the wiser, and he is on a day off tomorrow, so I have asked him to delegate the task of a simple call to me if it does arrive, and if it does, getting it ready for a Friday AM handover. It should be possible because the only extra I have ordered is tow electrics.
Here's hoping

No phone call today, so no new car this week.
I'm working full on again next week, so may not be able to collect it if it does turn up.
Looks like I'll be heading north in the crappy Galaxy again on Monday morning.

Seems there is a major issue with car transporters caused by EU "cabotage" rules and this has a major knock on deliveries in March and September .....there's even a current DfT document on how they are trying to resolve it.
https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/syst...sponse.pdf
Quote:Eleven of the twelve respondents (UK car manufacturers)said there wasn't sufficient capacity within the UK
car transporter fleet to cope with demand during the peak car registration periods in
March and September.
Quote:The RHA and JLR were also concerned about the late delivery of shipments to
customers
Not nice to be waiting ..but it will be worth it in the end Gareth 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

That's an interesting document DG, and does seem to explain why my car is stuck in the supply chain. Obviously nothing the dealer can do about it, and I will actually make them aware of this document tomorrow to perhaps help them explain to others what's going on.
Ron, thanks for the offer, at this stage I will hold fire for now.
