Do a really good search through this forum and you will learn a lot, especially what to look for when test driving etc etc as this is asked on a regular basis. As for high miles, there are lots on here with well in excess of 100K as you would expect now on cars that are hitting nearly 9 years old. As for the issues over these miles, different cars go to different ages with different issues. A good warranty is what you need. I have an 05 plate with warranty direct on a dealer repair warranty at a cost of £550 a year. Mine is a great condition HSE and if i was selling i would expect to be around 12-13k i would imagine. Mine has 70k miles on it

Yeh. i've been doing a bit of research but it seems so hard to find exactly what i should expect for my money.

Would love a black one with privacy glass, xenons, satnav, full service history, decent wheels (not sure which ones they are/come with) and black leather interior.

For £770 I would give you a years warranty on it Laughing Providing it has full service history and has been examined by a senior member of the site.

try and go for a HSE. that way youll get all the extras. early HSEs (around 06) also had rear aircon, adaptive lights and the cubby coll box.

dont worry about wheels or tints, these can be sorted afterwards.

I had a 2006 HSE - 140K miles, Full Service History - valued at £11K

also dont be put off by high mileage - once over 100k , you should find that all the maintenance bits have already been done ie suspension bushes etc

Alternatively, the early SE has a very good spec - heated leather seats front and rear and Xenons.

There will be two classes of high milers, those which have been neglected and need the cam belts doing and the supension bushes/track rods sorting and those which have been cherished and looked after properly.

The majority of females of all ages that have traveled in my car for the first time have come out with the same statement " I feel like the queen in this car".
My daughter has driven my Disco from being an 18 year old, she has got an HSE of her own now goes anywhere and everywhere in it and openly states she would not swap it for anything including D4 which she has had a trial in. My wife who has a Peugeot for every day use prefers to drive the Disco, she didn't speak to me for a week when I told her I had swapped it for a Freelander 2, - it had to go back.

So just to clarify, high mileage looked after will be fine (like any other car), the one to go for is a HSE or atleast a SE?

I'm starting to quite like black with brown/tan leather too.

Some of you saying what your cars are valued at but i can't find any decent examples in the spec i would like. Sad

The ones with xenon (or HID) lights are the projector style ones. The others are halogen bulbs (unless you look at D4's).

Ok, thanks.

Some advertised with xenons don't have projectors. Hence why i questioned it.
