Hiya all
It has been 10 months since i first started this thread telling everyone that we were starting on developing coverage for CAN BUS vehicles, starting with the D3, on our rather nice nanocom Evolution hardware with it's full colour display and Touch screen, and several month later i announced that in an epiphany moment i realized that the way we were going about adding this could be vastly better by our adding coverage based on diagnostic functionality rather than the usual vehicle model > vehicle system > duplicated function approach, that would ultimately be much more self intelligent, far easier to use and would pretty much automatically work on all CAN BUS vehicles.
This not only put us back pretty much to the start, and made developing the software far more complex and time consuming, and although this was bad news, has kept everyone waiting for far longer than i would have ever hoped for, and has made it seem like BBS is not keeping up progress, but i was willing to accept this initial delay because i knew full well that it would ultimately end up with a really revolutionary diagnostic system that would actually end up covering all CAN BUS vehicles including the almost never ending flood of newer models far faster than adding them one by one as is traditionally done.
Finally, after huge amounts of core development work, the visable results have finally started to emerge and sure enough, exactly as i expected, things are pretty clever and amazing to see in practice.
We have since done a few short Videos of some main functionality to demonstrate this.
In fact developments have recently progressed well enough that barring any serious problems that are discovered in final Beta testing, we fully expect to release the first upgrade with this coverage on, and thereby start suppling systems from the first of December.
In all honesty i cannot say that our first upgrade for the Nanocom Evolution including CAN BUS vehicle coverage will not have any minor bugs or problem's, however upgrading the unit is so increadibly simple, we will be sure to get any problem and fix sorted and released in days rather than weeks or months
Kits that include all the hardware and licence / unlock code for each model covered will be added on our Web shop.
I should perhaps re iterate that the Nanocom Evolution coverage will not be VIN Locked and so coverage on a given model, eg the D3, will allow it to be used on any D3.
It will of course also be possible to purchase additional licences / unlock codes for other models.
There has of course always been much question regarding the price of this system, no matter how good or clever it is, and given the status and associated cost of BBS's MSV-2 all bells and whisles system, especially in it's non VIN locked form coming to near £1500 i can appreciate that many would imagine that our producing a system costing even half of that, would find it still too expensive.
However what many on this board, who had most likely not even heard of the Nanocom Before may well not appreciate is that when we took over the Nanocom a few years back, the brand and its name and reputation was one that was totally based on providing much more affordable equipment than anything else on the market.
While we have since added our expertize to the product, rescued it, debugged it's software and totally reworked the Evolution hardware, we did so without raising the cost by a single penny, and so kept exactly what the Brand stood for.
The product has since become a complete sucess and we since have supplied literally thousands of Nanocom Evolutions to very happy owners.
I really was not fibbing when i posted this comment.
Quote:
But no matter if it takes us a few weeks or months to develop, test and introduce this, i am absolutely certain that when availiable, it will quickly become the must have tool for all owners.
And finally i am now able to make this a reality as the retail price of a Kit including all hardware and licences / Unlock codes for a given model will not be a half the cost of an MV MSV-2, it will not even be a third.
In fact it will not even be a Quarter, because the retail price of kits will be just £349.
However things get even better because for the whole month of December we will also be offereing an introductary / Chrismas discount of 20% making it just £279.
I will be happy to answer any questions.

Excellent news
Any ideas about software module (and lead if required) pricing for those of us who already have one?

I have a couple of questions, if you buy the device for £349 (or discounted to £279 for the introductory offer) will there be any further costs involved e.g. to use the Genesis website for ccf editing?
Also will the Discovery MY2012 and onwards be covered? Cheers Ian

Hiya Guys
Many thanks for all your kind comments of support and appreciation.
I appreciate that at such a low price, especially for Multi Vehicle equipment produced by BBS, many may imagine there must be some hidden catch.
But there really isn't one.
As most everyone knows, we are already the number one supplier of the most advanced and feature rich diagnostic system there is for Land Rover Vehicles on the market in the form of our MSV-2 system.
Once this was sufficient to meet market demands, but times do change and clearly there has been a growing demand for much lower cost equipment.
Given that we already have such a vast experience and expertise on dealing with Land Rover Vehicles diagnostic capabilities, and having the really brilliant nanocom Evolution product as well as the on line capabilities of Genesis, we are uniquely placed to be able to best meet this growing requirement and also become the number one supplier of the best equipment for the price there is.
Hence, as announced, and to also answer most of the questions raised etc, we are indeed offering this at just £349 for a Kit that includes all hardware, Licence / unlock codes for one vehicle model, and that also includes an account on Genesis Hairy Dan
Barring only any major problems that might be found in the software by the Beta testers, we are going to start taking orders and supplying these from December the 1st 2013 and to get the ball rolling we will be offering a 20% discount on all orders for this through December, making it just £279 which does indeed make for a nice Christmas pressie Markmein
As also stated, but just to be clear on this, although we have done huge amounts of work and testing and fully expect there to be no real problems with any provided capability in this first release of the software, It is still a very new system on which there are bound to be some bugs that will need tweaking out. In addition some functions on some models will also not be added until later.
Initial coverage will definately include all years of the Discovery 3 and 4 and the Range Rover Sport
I will shortly be providing further information in respect of models and the diagnostic functions.
For existing owners of Nanocoms, they will also then be able to buy the requisite lead for £42.50 and the licence / Unlock codes for 217.50. And of course purchasers of a system can also add additional licences / Unlock codes to cover other models when they purchase their system.
Of course these will also be on offer at 20% discount during December
I hope this answers all questions, but if not, or anyone has any others, i am happy to answer as best i can.
Colin

Will the Nanocom Evo use the same OBD connection cable as the FCR?
Or would a suitable cable be provided with it?Clive
